This is bizarre - basically just pics of the cars and none of the house

We viewed a house with weird photos. Turns out it was rented and the tenant refused to let any of her property be photographed.

thriftyhen · 11/08/2020 17:11

The agents are probably getting excited about the number of Rightmove clicks they are getting!

Staffy1 · 11/08/2020 17:16

Yes, strange. It even says recently refurbished, so what is there to hide?

IdblowJonSnow · 11/08/2020 17:29

That must be an error surely?! Xx

Hmmph · 11/08/2020 17:31

It’s apparently very pricey for an estate agent to register and put properties on Rightmove too.

CambsAlways · 11/08/2020 17:43

Just weird

[quote FlamingoAndJohn]This is the info from the company that developed the rest of the park.

"World class education" as well as being able to park and pee. I am IN!

ChavvySexPond · 11/08/2020 17:46

@Hotandknackered

Why is every word capitalised in the description? Eeek
Like my daily email from my elderly aunt. (I am her personal Snopes and tech support. )
ChavvySexPond · 11/08/2020 17:47

If this is real the vendor should be extremely pissed off.

Mooballs · 11/08/2020 17:49

Lol. The 'hart' of Didsbury and no more a listed building?!

GruffaIo · 11/08/2020 17:56

2 options I can think of:

  1. tenants won't allow viewings and the vendor just can't wait until they're out;
  2. divorce sale and the vendor is seeking to prove that the property is worth significantly less than the marketed price, hence trying to reduce likelihood of people viewing (but what agent would agree to go along with that? A high price, sure, but the photos and the description?!)
thisstooshallpass · 11/08/2020 18:07

Eek. It's barely even in West Didsbury. Is someone trying to sell a house that doesn't belong to them?

Standrewsschool · 11/08/2020 18:08

The inside pictures aren’t much better.

MrsCollinssettled · 11/08/2020 18:09

A 21 yr old lad is probably going to be more interested in cars than interiors. Smart family - can't buy it if you buy your clothes in a supermarket? Or do your shopping in pjs? Or perhaps it's really poky inside and only suitable for a small family?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 11/08/2020 18:32

@WhatATimeToBeAlive

£800k for a 3 bed in Manchester?! I thought it was supposed to be cheap up there!
This is exactly what I was thinking! And it is only 1300 sq foot, so you aren't getting much bang for your buck Hmm
acatcalledjohn · 11/08/2020 18:44

That is bizarre.

I have noticed more and more a strange trend where agents add "atmosphere" (for want of a better word) shots, e.g. a bottle of wine and glasses on a table in the garden where the background is blurred.

Mind you, I'd rather get an impressionist's view of a property than this. I would not even consider viewing this property solely based on the listing. It is awful.

MrsFogi · 11/08/2020 19:23

All very odd - the EA doesn't appear to have a website and was only set up in June 2020.

GreyGardens88 · 11/08/2020 19:26

My favourite -

FlamingoAndJohn · 11/08/2020 19:27

I wonder if the ‘estate agent’ is the current owner or family of the owner and has set up as an estate agent to sell the property, by which I mean stick it on Rightmove, and save any agency fees.

Do you need any certifications to be an estate agent or could I set up as one tomorrow?

FlamingoAndJohn · 11/08/2020 19:31

But that’s for sale by auctions. Those of us who spend far to long watching Homes Under the Hammer know what that means.

My favourite was the one where is was unsafe to go inside but there was a 360 view of each room.
The rooms were full of crap and the room in the attic had a man dressed as a pigeon stood in it.

There's Manchester, then there's places like Didsbury in Manchester, where Manchester prices do not apply.
PaternosterLoft · 11/08/2020 19:38

Are the cars included?
Is there no parking in the whole of Didsbury?

Thecobwebsarewinning · 11/08/2020 20:09

An estate agent I met once was complaining about how expensive it is to use RightMove so it seems unlikely a private seller would use it. I think Purple Bricks is more geared up for that.

TinyPickles · 11/08/2020 20:20

I expected more from the inside, going by the (small bit shown) of the outside and the price.

Mamabeemer · 11/08/2020 20:45

It’s around £1.5k a month for rightmove, BIL has an estate agency and is always talking about how much of a rip off it is.
