Do you have a wine fridge?

Do you like it? Does it work well? Are you glad you got one?

I’m thinking about getting a little wine fridge for the kitchen but DH is dubious...

I do - and I love it, but it doesn't stay stocked for long Hmm really worth the investment and I think it just adds to a kitchen.

AnneBullen · 08/08/2020 17:55

Yes yes and yes!!

BBQ today and it’s invaluable

omg35 · 08/08/2020 17:56

I'd like one but like a PP, not sure there would be wine in it for long!

A drinks fridge in the cinema room and we rarely use it. I did consider a wine fridge but just got a little rack for the kitchen. Knowing me, I’d end up sozzled most days if I had a wine fridge.

We have one, came with our house.
It is useful for our cans of water.
We drink too much wine if we fill it up with that!

utterflapdoodle · 08/08/2020 18:07

Yes I do. Yes it does and yes I am! If you're a wine lover it's the next best thing to having a real cellar.

I have a Liebherr wine fridge built into my kitchen. It holds about sixty bottles or so with two temperature zones. Wouldn't be without it.

I've had some serious bottles of red maturing in there for years. Others disappear rather more quickly!

Elouera · 08/08/2020 18:11

I don't have one, but MIL does. Very useful for cooling not only wine, but beers, soft drinks and everything else that doesnt fit in the main fridge. She got hers from a 2nds world type shop that sell ex display models, or those where the box got dented, refunds etc. It was brand new, except for a scratch on one side, which you cant see at all as it sits under the bench.

Flamingolingo · 08/08/2020 18:13

Deliberately chose not to in our recent kitchen. I think if you’re big wine drinkers it might be worth it, but we have a big fridge so it’s fine. Some friends have them, some love it, some use it to store fruit juice and the like.

madasamarchhare · 08/08/2020 18:48

Yes we have a small one built in. Also use it for beers and water, great when you want a cold drink and don’t have to think about it.

Whoopsmahoot · 08/08/2020 18:48

Yes, fabulous

didireallysaythat · 08/08/2020 18:53

No I just have a big enough fridge so that I don't need another one for one or two bottles of wine. I don't drink every day so don't need one.

MacduffsMuff · 08/08/2020 18:54

Yes and I love it. It is a thing of beauty and makes me happy.

PhoneLock · 08/08/2020 18:58

Yes, in the cellar. It gets used an overflow for the main fridge.

Yes, great for chilling beer, mixers and fruit juice as well as wine. Creates space in our main fridge and find it really useful at Christmas and parties.

cptartapp · 08/08/2020 19:32

Yes, an inbuilt one. My favourite thing in our new kitchen.

Userengage · 08/08/2020 19:34

Yes, big fridge and separate wine fridge. Still experimenting with my exact temperature, used to find big fridge too cold for my wine.

Xiaoxiong · 08/08/2020 19:42

We have the next best thing, an under-counter fridge that is meant for drinks but is more versatile than a wine fridge. In the before-times (before corona) we used to pick a few bits up most nights on the commute home, and we ate out a lot more so a standard fridge was fine for food and the under-counter could just be drinks - now we really need both fridges to store a week's worth for 3 meals a day. If we only had a wine fridge we'd have to get two smaller shops a week.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 08/08/2020 19:45

I have a wine rack in my fridge. It's overflowing. But that's because I hardly ever drink but people still buy me wine Hmm

AdaColeman · 08/08/2020 19:55

No, but I’ve always wanted one! Wine Wine

FairfaxAikman · 08/08/2020 20:02

Our house had one when we moved in. Neither of us drinks wine so it's used for soft drinks cans.

It's handy in the sense that we can have a lot of drink chilled without having up any space in the main fridge.

NewCatMummy · 08/08/2020 20:08

Have an extra fridge in the garage for wine and tonic- always have a bottle of champagne chilled in case someone comes over with good news (has been used for engagements).

MrsJBaptiste · 08/08/2020 20:14

God, I'd love a wine fridge! ❤

However my waistline would not - it would end up empty more than full 😮

Nooch · 08/08/2020 20:17

Yes, that and the dishwasher are my favourite kitchen appliances ❤️

Cuppaand2biscuits · 08/08/2020 20:23

We have a separate under the counter fridge for drinks. Really, really useful.
