Colour catchers. No need to be as picky with separating colours when doing the laundry.

My Dh and I both have our own single duvets on a king size bed. Stops duvet tussles. 🙂

preens just a bit Grin

Wheresthebiffer2 · 05/08/2020 22:17

4 slice toaster.

Deadringer · 06/08/2020 01:12

We got a proper freezer to replace our old small chest style one and it has made a huge difference. Also I love a cheese toastie so one small but brilliant thing is toaster bags.

hannonle · 08/08/2020 21:06

Those bag sealer rods, esp the one that's a handle and is great for dry dog food bags!

A bowl/tray to store my hair bobbles & clips on top of my bedroom chest of drawers - tidier and no hairs everywhere.

A handheld vacuum, like the old fashioned dustbuster. Great for crumbs and quick car cleaning.

I really want one - trying to persuade DP to get a Dualit one!

@JennyWr3n

Don't understand toaster tongs? My toaster just pops the toast up, no need to retrieve with tongs ?
Bread is normally fine but my toaster eats smaller stuff like pancakes or such.
dexterslockedintheshedagain · 09/08/2020 05:42

My KitchenAid stand mixer. Now I can make brilliant mayo!

Sheenais · 09/08/2020 05:52

Through the door water/ice. I always hated the look of them, but I definitely drink more water so it is a good thing.

strawberryplant · 09/08/2020 06:00

@Nitpickpicnic

Colour Catchers for sure!

But I just can’t fathom why no one else I know buys them, even after I rave? I get that people get stuck in laundry habits, but why wouldn’t you leap on a solution that cuts back on water, detergent and halves your time in the laundry? I’m stumped!

Because they've got stuck in my washing machines pump more than once, not very convenient at all!
AbsolutWitch · 09/08/2020 06:14

Contactless payment with my phone.

As someone who constantly loses and forgets things, this has literally changed my life.

Many many occasions in the past I've opened my purse at the checkout to find my debit card not there, or if it is I can't remember my pin number.

Now all I do is check I have my phone and I'm good to go. Great on public transport too Grin

LongPauseNoReply · 09/08/2020 06:17

An Electrolux dishwasher. The bottom rack comes out and up so it’s level with the top layer. No more bending over repeatedly to empty the dishwasher!

orangejuicer · 09/08/2020 06:24

Another one for frozen onions, saves so much time and so many tears.

janj2301 · 09/08/2020 06:50

're the colour catcher, my daughter puts hers inside one of those net bags that you can put undies in

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/08/2020 08:05

I’ve thought of another one.

I bought three 4.5tog sk duvets and used Velcro self adhesive dots to fix them together. I can wash them one at a time so the duvet is always clean. It’s £30 to wash a duvet here and no launderette.

I also don’t change the duvet cover in summer when only one duvet is on the bed.

Tarararara · 09/08/2020 08:17

Fitted sheet straps.

Sheknowsaboutme · 09/08/2020 08:21

Frozen onions
Foodbag clips

And any other gimmick i find in Home Bargains

Bettyboop3 · 09/08/2020 08:32

My husband 😂

StuntNun · 09/08/2020 08:46

Steaming eggs (in a metal fan steamer or you can buy a dedicated egg rack that fits in your saucepan) rather than boiling them. Wait for the water in the bottom to be boiling, add eggs, put lid on, seven minutes for room temperature large eggs = perfectly cooked white with soft yolk. I always cook two extra and run them under the tap to cool them then out them in the fridge for a snack later on; that way the yolk stays squishy.

@TheBeesKnee get one! I've had mine since 1998 and it's still going strong!

CherryPavlova · 09/08/2020 08:52

BIgger thing - an electric fridge rather than the gas one we had in my teenage years and an automatic washing machine instead of a tub and mangle.
Small things - travel mugs for the car, coloured ribbons on towels and only buying my son black socks.

Wonderweb instant hemming and patching tape.
A mandolin.

hadley222 · 09/08/2020 09:50

A delay switch on my washer dryer.

@KurriKawari and everyone!

This is a brilliant spray mop! It's cordless and does a great job of cleaning the kitchen and bathroom tiles. Takes only a few minutes for the floor to dry.

I haven't tried it on the wood block floor yet but I'm confident that it will do a good job there too.

Sawyersfishbiscuits · 09/08/2020 10:06

Discovering after 6 years of storing all my pots and pans in an awkward corner cupboard that they actually all fit beautifully into one large kitchen drawer. Literally made everything so much easier and can find exactly what I need straight away. I'm kicking myself.
I then bought deep B&M baskets for the other big drawers and everything is so much better to get hold of

DelurkingAJ · 09/08/2020 10:30

Wellie boot bags and walking boot bags. Tough bags that they zip into. No more mud scattered all over the cupboard they live in.
