Fire extinguishers. One for the kitchen, one for the bedroom in case of nighttime emergency.

Ok so I may just have to have to shorten it a bit.

I was going to buy it all as a little housewarming gift.

Perhaps I will just stick to a multi tool

Everything gets mended in our house with gaffer tape or cable ties.

@TooFrickinHot

We have a gazillion fancy tools that dp insists on buying, but 90% of the time we use this

www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/fixa-17-piece-tool-set-00169254/

I would really recommend it!

@TooFrickinHot I was about to recommend this too! It’s a surprisingly useful and basic set that covers most of your needs.

Add in the IKEA drill and you’re pretty much set for a while www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/fixa-screwdriver-drill-li-ion-00232905/

What's a magic sponge?

Report
TheGirlWhoLived · 31/07/2020 08:59

Did anyone put plasters on the list?

Screwdrivers
Selection of batteries
Basic first aid
Wd40
Gaffer tape

I’d say anything that couldn’t be easily gotten hold of, or else anything that is needed very quickly

Magic sponge gets rid of marks from walls, doors, skirting boards etc with minimal effort.

I don't have most of those things and I left home decades ago.

Tin opener?

Ds1 is moving out on Wednesday next week, and despite my sage advice (lol) decided that the thing he needed most was...

A 49 inch tv Grin

He also decided that two saucepans were sufficient to cook his 4 meals a day.

I did, however, manage to get him to buy oven mitts and kitchen tongs. Also tupperware, once he realised he couldn't filch mine.

Unless in US, she will need Pozidriv screwdrivers, not Phillips
