My DC is moving out soon and I'm compiling a list of household must haves to buy as a household essential kit.
So far I have

Cable ties
Gaffer tape
Gorilla glue
Emergency toilet roll
Set of Allen keys
Sellotape
All-purpose cleaner
Magic sponge
Cleaning cloths
First aid kit
Tool kit
Batteries
Black sacks

Heated airer.
I think I was nudged via here to get one but I'm still in love with it a thousand years later.

Fire extinguishers. One for the kitchen, one for the bedroom in case of nighttime emergency.

To add to the above. A ball of string (thanks nan!), she was right as always.

Everything gets mended in our house with gaffer tape or cable ties.

Magic sponge gets rid of marks from walls, doors, skirting boards etc with minimal effort.

I don't have most of those things and I left home decades ago.
