Oh wow. Feeling very very normal compared with you lot!
Have met & worked with scientists considered famous in their respective fields, & actually got a thsnk you in the acknowledgements of a book. Certainly not glamorous though.

Coffee my family are all scientific. Don’t know what happened to me! It would be a lot more useful.
I just fell into flying. I was going to be a French teacher, had the PGCE all lined up, then the airline advertised in the language dept and I thought aw I’ll do it for a couple of years first. 23 years later I’ve only just stopped!

@Honeyroar It sounds like you took the path that suited you & so far have had pretty good experiences over the years!

@CoffeeBeansGalore - I’m always impressed by scientists. I’m so bloody hopeless I swear we’d all still be living in caves if everyone’s brain was wired like mine! Once confessed to my then boyfriend that I didn’t understand electricity. He said ‘oh, it’s really simple’ and patiently explained it. By the third go he was looking and sounding decidedly less patient so I decided to go with ‘Ah, oh - I see. Yep, totally up understand now. Thank you.’ Still not a clue...

Having an acknowledgement in a book is pretty impressive too! 😊

To be fair I am not a scientist, just worked with them at a university for a long time. But it gave me an interest and a bit of insight that I would not have otherwise had. The Big Bang Theory makes me laugh because at times it is spot on! They obviously have advisors with in-depth knowledge 😄
