How much do you weigh if 5'3 and a size 14?

Ok so I know body shapes differ.

I'm on a diet and size 14 is my goal, rather than weight but as it's far away, I'd like to know what I might be aiming for.

Thanks!

I'm 5'2, currently 12.5 stone and fitting into a size 12 at 40 weeks pregnant

I'm almost 13 stone now and am almost creeping in to a size 16 because I like my clothes to be loose. The diet has started though over the summer holidays so that hopefully I can start my new job in September feeling fitter and healthier.

Yet I'm a 14 at 12 stone and 5 7 so I'd expect a 5 2 size 14 to be at least a couple of stone lighter. Obviously depends on your build, my wrists and shoulders are very small but I have long muscular legs.

I'm 11.3 stone but in one of those annoying sizes. Size 12 is too tight, size 14 is too loose so size 13 would be perfect. I'm
5'10 though but just have large hips or maybe most jeans/clothes don't accommodate larger hips/bums.

Depends on your body shape and muscle tone.

For me a size 14 is about 10 and half stone

I’m 5 foot 4, 11.5 stone and overweight. Less overweight than I was though.

Not sure what size I am as it’s different in different places plus my hips/bottom are bigger than my top.

I am aiming for 9.5 stone at the moment

I'm usually a size 14 but a bit taller at 5'5", 11st 5lbs and BMI of 26.

@CountFosco

At 5'3" you'll still be very overweight at size 14, you probably need to get down to size 10. But aim for a weight - the healthy weight range for your height is 7st 6lb - 10st 1lb.

That's not true though is it about being very overweight. If 5'3" and size 14 is 10 st 7 but top recommended weight is 10 st 1 that puts them at BMI around 26-27 which is just slightly overweight and in many things eg recovery from illness in middle age this is the healthiest weight range . Particularly if a pear shape and fit.

I don't understand why height makes a difference. Surely a 6ft women who is a size 14 is just as overweight as a 5ft women in relation to their BMI etc?

We’ve lost sight of what is a healthy weight

Oh there's always one isn't there.

Yes you're totally right...we just don't realise what fat bastards we really are...thanks for educating everyone

BarbaraofSeville · 25/07/2020 10:57

No, because a 6 foot size 14 woman will be far more in proportion and have lower body fat than a 5 ft woman of the same width.

I'm 5' 3" and currently 14/16 at 9st 11lb, BMI 24. I need to get down to 9 stone, BMI 22, to be size 14 properly.
I don't think I am very big at this weight as others are suggesting. I was 7st 7lb from teens to mid 40s and was skinny and size 10/12, so I know what being thin is like.

I'm 5'3" and size 14 and weigh just over 11 stone. I do not identify as 'very' overweight!

You can identify as whatever you want, but according to the NHS it's very overweight.

This thread shows that there is literally no rule of thumb for size versus weight! I am 9st 10 (same as a PP) but I'm in 10 on top 12 on bottom and they are 14 so to the muppet who said she would be overweight at 14 that is clearly not true! BMI based on weight not size. Erm DOH!!!

You obviously don't understand BMI then, as height is part of the equation. Can you really not understand that it is normal for a taller person to weigh more than a shorter one?

Size 14 (sometimes a 12). Weigh 10 stone 3 and am 5 foot 3

I'm a size 14 (12 in certain shops).
I'm between 12st7lbs & 12st12lbs.
I'm also 5'3".

I'm on a diet and aiming for 11st which is still overweight, but realistic.
My ultimate goal is 9st13lbs but i can't believe I will get there.

Personally I don't really go by dress size as I wore size 12 tops when I was 23 & 9st due to having big boobs!
And shops vary so much in size anyway.

Im not skinny but not fat, have quite a naturally muscular figure (metamorph), broad shoulders etc, lift weights. I'm 12 stone 10 😬 fit size 12 and 14. I'm breastfeeding but I don't know if that makes a difference, not much information online.

Exactly that height and dress size in most shops. I am about 11 and a half at the moment so around bmi 28 I think? I know over 12 stone is obese. My waist is 30 inches so under half my height though and a 14 is often loose there.

I am pear/hour glass shape and weight is mostly on thighs and bum. I do have a bit of a tummy and c section shelf. I am a medium build for my height, definitely not petite in build, I'm just short.

I look a bit fat. Chubby. Overweight. I've never not been overweight as an adult and the lowest weight I've reached was 10 stone. I was been much much bigger with a bmi of 37 at some points though.

So I am realistic - ideally I'd get back to under 11 stone as I understand the importance from a health perspective but I'm 45, am perimenopausal and have a thyroid issue. I try to eat well, try and be active.

Good luck op. It's great you are looking after yourself.

At 5ft 2 inch and size 14 I was 9 1/2 to 10 1/2 stone. I'm currently 11 stone heading smaller and size 16 is starting to get loose. At 9 stone I was a size 12.

I'm 5ft 4 and a size 14, weigh about 11.6. I'm actually quite overweight, and trying to get back to being at least 2 stone lighter.

@ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords I took that poster to mean that no matter if you are 6ft or 5ft, a size 14 will usually mean you are overweight, even with them being different weights and heights

I'm 5'4 and currently 11.8 stone. I wear a size 12 and fit size 10 jeans in new look? Confusedsize means nothing nowadays. Every shop fits differently.

I'm 11s and want to be 9.5 stone instead but finding it hard to shift the weight ... BMI is just over 25 so definitely overweight

Report
Tingalingle · 25/07/2020 14:32

@Mostlikely

Depends where you shop though. I am currently 9 stone and have clothes size 10, 12 and 14 and all fit.

I was going to say the same. I’m about 9 st 3 and wear anything from 10 (sleeveless tops) to 14 (things with stiff sleeves) as I seem to have bricklayers’ shoulders.
