To think the Princess Beatrice photos released by e RF are a bit naff?

I love a good Royal wedding I do and was looking forward to seeing the portrait pictures of Beatrice at Buckingham Palace like we have with other royal weddings.

So was disappointed that this is what the RF have released news.sky.com/story/princess-beatrice-wedding-first-photos-from-ceremony-show-royal-in-queens-dress-and-tiara-12031462

I'd love to say she looks gorgeous, and I'm sure she does but I can't tell! Is it just me who thinks they look like they've been taken with an iPhone from afar by a fan in a bush or something?

What Veganforlife said. It was a private affair, so I imagine they have a lovely range of photographs from the day for themselves and their family.

OnAPar · 19/07/2020 11:41

I don’t follow the royal family and hadn’t heard of Princess Beatrice before. Is she Williams and Harry’s sister?
But looked at the photos and they look like nice normal wedding photos? Much nicer than the usual OTT Royal Family weddings.

tenlittlecygnets · 19/07/2020 11:44

@margotMoon, what a crappy comment. If you're married, didn't you smile at all on your wedding day?! 🙄

Lovely dress. It would be a dream come true to have a rummage around the Queen’s wardrobe.

back2good · 19/07/2020 11:48

Soooooooooooooooooo... one of those royal women, so hated by the press, and MNers it seems, chooses to get wed in hand me downs, cheaply, without all the fuss and fanfare, whilst her fuckwit of a father is doing whatever it is he is doing, or not doing, and look! you still fucking hate on her!

Grow up, maybe?

This.

I am not a fan of the royal family and think they should fend for themselves. They have enough money to do so. But even so ... Beatrice did it beautifully under the current circumstances. It's not her fault her father's an arse. luckily for her, covid gave her an excuse to do it beautifully without having to deal with his presence in a more public wedding, and her grandmother helped her make it special to show how loved she is.

manicinsomniac · 19/07/2020 11:50

OnaPar - she's their cousin.

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 19/07/2020 11:50

She looks lovely and they look incredibly happy. What more can someone ask for from their wedding‽

lilgreen · 19/07/2020 11:52

I think they are just right given the circumstances.

GreenTulips · 19/07/2020 11:54

Surely they had to keep it quite to stop huge numbers of people gathering for a peek?

Quite sensible

Toilenstripes · 19/07/2020 11:55

The dress isn't to my taste, but she looks as if she feels beautiful in it,

Awful comment. You might want to rethink your “taste”.

OlaEliza · 19/07/2020 11:55

The usual miserable MN comment re: weddings is run off and do it low-key.

Beatrice has and MN is still not happy.

Says it all, really...

OneKeyAtATime · 19/07/2020 11:58

What s wrong with these photos?

Ninkanink · 19/07/2020 12:00

I like them. I think she wore HM’s vintage dress and tiara magnificently, I loved the floral colour scheme, and it looked lovely and intimate and everyone looked happy.

RightOnTheEdge · 19/07/2020 12:01

I think the pictures are beautiful and I love the history of her dress and tiara.
I think it all looks really classy and gorgeous!
I can see the dress really well if I zoom in on my phone.

Todaywewilldobetter · 19/07/2020 12:02

They both look wonderful. And happy. And the vintage dress is stunning on her.

Some people really are miserable twats!

MrsFezziwig · 19/07/2020 12:03

I feel sorry for Beatrice, I expect she'd have loved a lavish public wedding

She told you that, did she?

averythinline · 19/07/2020 12:07

assumed she was pregnant which is why they havent waited... but nevermind that she looked really happy and I hope they had good fun afterwards... she cant help her father .. the photo with the flowers is lovely ...and even though not my style at all loving the recycled dress and tiara...

Getagripffs · 19/07/2020 12:13

I love her dress!

FizzAfterSix · 19/07/2020 12:15

I love it that she wore an old Norman Hartnell dress of the Queen. I wish the RF would recycle their clothes more - they have enough of them- and this was a lovely gesture.
I loved the flowers too.

netflixismysidehustle · 19/07/2020 12:15

I assume you wanted a pic like Kate/Meghan/Eugenie in this pic rather than the relaxed and candid pic that we got but naff is very unfair imo. I think a simple and tasteful affair was perfect for 2020 and her personality might be closer to this kind of wedding rather than something more formal.

We may get some pics in the following days like her sister in a bridesmaid dress ?

To think the Princess Beatrice photos released by e RF are a bit naff?
LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 19/07/2020 12:17

I don't know why you'd start a thread to criticise, OP? How would you have liked it, some random nobody starting a thread to critique your wedding photos? Says a lot about you.

I'm not interested in their wedding or anybody's but I wish them well and I'm glad they're away from the papparazzi. I expect they've got dozens of photos for the family that they don't want to share with the nosey, over-invested public... and good on them.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 19/07/2020 12:22

I thought they were lovely. It would be nice to see a few more pictures, but that's because I'm a bit nosy and looks like such a lovely celebration and I'd like to see more of it.

The flowered arch reminded me of the Brambly Hedge Summer Story. Smile

RedToothBrush · 19/07/2020 12:22

Whats nice about it, is she's taken the once in a life time opportunity she will have to have a quiet wedding without having to invite hundreds of guest and 'live up to' the high society expectations of the expense dress etc etc. Getting married is more important than the sense of occasion.

Its reading the public mood a lot better in terms of PR and her father too.

The other thing is she looks relaxed and not pressured.

In terms of it being the Royal Family she has to ask the permission of her Grandmother, not her father to get married so the pictures make sense from that point of view (although we all know its about avoiding embarassing Dad pics - we don't know how she feels about it all either).

As for the dress, its beautiful and sentimental.

I think Beatrice would have been criticised whatever she did, but if the best thing you can find to criticise is you don't like the photos, I think she's pulled it off wonderfully. I hope that future Royal Weddings are much more like this, than the over blown money pits they normally are.

Besides, I'm sure she will have the huge reception at a later date anyway (and the Queen will be excused from attending which will probably suit everyone concerned).

MrsBobDylan · 19/07/2020 12:23

Are you fucking serious?!! She looks stunning. She is also radiating happiness and it is lovely to see her grandparents looking on so lovingly.

I am so done with all these manufactured weddings where every aspect has to be an expression of the couple's personalities, with the justification for so much waste and expense being that you 'only do it once', which for almost half of us, is absolute bollocks anyway.

That dress is perfect on her and how amazing that it is a vintage piece.

Lay off her.

M5ybelle · 19/07/2020 12:23

It's her day and we don't need to see the pictures, we don't need to look at them, or comment. I m glad they got married and made it personal to them and I wish them every happiness especially as 2 innocent photos are generating unsavoury comments.
