Lots of drama with local people driving to find it! Some with kids Confused I think they may enjoy the drama. It has been very heavy rain in the night so the ravers must have got soaked

Ibake · 19/07/2020 08:45

Blimey @Orangeblossom78 That is quite some crowd!

Orangeblossom78 · 19/07/2020 08:51

It's still going on! Haha sound like a dementor myself. Funny to read the comments from the retired Bath types locally, they are shocked, and horrified.

ButterMeCrumpets · 19/07/2020 08:55

I guess it's far less risky to be outside than in a nightclub but bloody hell I wouldn't want to listen to that all night.

KaronAVyrus · 19/07/2020 09:02

I’m glad I wasn’t near the Bath rave as I seriously need my beauty sleep but good on the young uns of Somerset for showing a rebellious side.

Drivingdownthe101 · 19/07/2020 09:03

Ooh what drama @Orangeblossom78! I used to live in Bath and can imagine the consternation it’s caused Grin

Drivingdownthe101 · 19/07/2020 09:09

We’re off to feed the ducks and have cake in the tea rooms by the lake this morning, then going for an actual drink in an actual beer garden this afternoon... can’t wait! Feels almost like a normal Sunday Smile

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 19/07/2020 09:48

I can’t be the only one to have doubted their “down with the kids-ness” at “funding music”! 😂 what IS this fresh new genre?

This morning I’m mostly liking my cat. Everyone else can feck orf.

Not even ten and everyone including me has cried.

Making memories again!

Dowser · 19/07/2020 10:22

Gorgeous day here too.
Was just trying to nod off again about 8 ish when I thought that sounds li,e a tractor cutting the grass in the field next door ..looked out the window and yep
10/10
For identifying muffled noises coming through ear plugs.
Love the countryside me ☹️

Oh dear..my post about the gathering seems to have stirred things up a bit...
Not my intention . Just passing on information.
Sorry about the fact that people felt the need to leave.
As always, I wish them well.

Dowser · 19/07/2020 10:25

@InsaneInTheViralMembrane
Sorry about your miserable morning
Hope it cheers up for you all.

Mrsfrumble · 19/07/2020 10:51

Here was I, mildly irritated that the youngsters next door had a party in their garden that went on til midnight! If I was anywhere near Bath, I think I’d have been secretly envious of the carefree ravers, able to party all night long.

ButterMeCrumpets · 19/07/2020 11:02

Even in my youth I couldn't party hard all night.

Very occasionally made it to 4am and it knocked me out for several days after. Now I am lucky to still be up at 10pm.

Mascotte · 19/07/2020 11:18

Oh dear, I specially chose not to put masks in the title as I know there's a range of views.

I'm a don't like but wear if mandatory and I'll avoid those situations where possible.

Anyway, I stayed up carousing til 2.30 despite being old! No rave though. 😃

Orangeblossom78 · 19/07/2020 11:26

Dh quite wanted to go to the rave! Haha.

ButterMeCrumpets · 19/07/2020 11:34

@Orangeblossom78

Dh quite wanted to go to the rave! Haha.
If you can't beat them join them Grin
TheOrchidKiller · 19/07/2020 11:34

Dowser I felt you were just passing on information, too.

No raves or scrapping children here, so there's no excuse for my melancholy.

I wish I had more motivation. I feel under pressure to go out because the weather's nice today, but I just don't want to go because it's a hassle.

There is also this old frumpy woman looking at me in the mirror. She wasn't there before lockdown, where did she come from?

Drivingdownthe101 · 19/07/2020 11:35

Ah I did plenty of all night partying as a youngster, once went to Vegas for 48 hours and we decided we didn’t want to waste any time so slept on the flight there, the flight home and not at all in between Grin. Shame really as we had a massive hotel room with a king sized bed each (me and a friend). I have really awful insomnia though so unintended all nighters are sadly still common.
Wasn’t much of a raver though.

Dowser · 19/07/2020 12:20

@TheOrchidKiller
Yes, I’d hate to sit on something someone else might have found useful..as in..I wish I’d known I’d have definitely gone

There was onein Birmingham yesterday apparently..I did not know about that one

Or Beatrice’s secret and private wedding...which I thought was spot on

I wouldn’t make a very good newshound..sack me now 😂

SpnBaby1967 · 19/07/2020 12:22

I spent yesterday afternoon in the pub with DH and my best mate. Kids played at the park and my no alcohol because I'm dieting went out the window in spectacular fashion! T'was awesome though. Our local pub is just the best place, super friendly and so undementory its staggering. They follow the roolsz, patrons who dont follow the rules have to leave but they're soooooo nice about it all.

Meanwhile today I skipped karate and have spent all morning on auotrader staring at the car I want to buy. We can afford it, but right now we have no car payments and there is something about not wanting to start another 5 year payment cycle. But my car wont last much longer and whilst it's in good knick with low mileage I feel like now is the time to PX it.

Of course DH is leaving the decision entirely up to me, I'm no good at making these kinds of decisions as my head and heart battle too much.

Dowser · 19/07/2020 12:34

@SpnBaby1967
Sounds like you had a fab day yesterday
Yes my dieting day hit the skids in ripon, when I went to booths and bought some nice gf and df cake.
I didn’t really have to eat it though..or the tyrells crisps before it

Re the car..is there nothing a bit cheaper you could love as much.
I spent £8k on my red toyota auris, which was 5 years old
Most money I’ve spent on a car I think.
I do love toyotas though, we’ve had amazing reliability and longevity from them. In fact I let the last one go as it was 18 years old but it went like a bomb and sounded like one too. It was an old style corolla.

Ibake · 19/07/2020 12:38

Camilla Long's Times comment piece is good today for those of you with a subscription. There's also a long article on BoJo which I'm halfway through, it's an interesting read.

Probably best to listen to Dowser rather than me, I’d say go for it Grin
torydeathdrug · 19/07/2020 13:16

Fame at last Wink

I liked the Camilla Long one and also another about the BBC not being balanced and too opinionated, www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/comment/bowing-to-twitter-culture-is-bad-news-for-the-bbc-8gw5rdvnf

NothingIsWrong · 19/07/2020 13:35

Ran my first 10k since March, but bugger me I'm so slow... 1h08 when I used to be able to knock that off in 57min

Less cake...
