Classic Film Recommendations

So, over the weekend during a particularly horrible hangover i watched 3 Audrey Hepburn films - Breakfast at Tiffany's, Roman Holidays & Sabrina and i loved them all.
Such a change from the usual modern mindnumbing, cringe films I watch.

Followed it up the next day with 'Jane Eyre'

Really enjoyed that too.

....so now im looking for anymore 'classic' film recommendations? Bonus points if i can access them through NOW tv/Netflix..

I love the Elizabeth Taylor version of Little Women.

I still get chills when I see large groups of birds, after Hitchcock's The Birds.

I'd like to throw, In the Heat of the night into the mix.

@NanTheWiser we love The odd couple and if anyone in our house is coming down with a cold we start doing the Jack Lemmon "phnah phnah" sinus scene.
I never tire of watching it. Grin

Hope you enjoy The birds OP, I love a Hitchcock film and Rear Window is my favourite. I grew up watching classic films as my dad was a huge fan, he loved Doris Day in particular and I would recommend The Thrill of It All, also starring James Garner

Hello classic film fans.

Watched "The Birds" last night.... enjoyed it but only in a 'that was OK, type of way" I enjoyed the classic cinematography of it all, but the ending left me with more questions than answers, and that always drives me a little mad, and leaves me feeling unsatisfied...

Tonights film is 1952's "The Quiet Man"

Keep the recommendations coming in!

Love all these, the barefoot contessa?

aurora12digits · 19/07/2020 21:50

Well if you are watching The Birds and The Quiet Man, try Papermoon. Not as old but worth the watch.

Bloodybridget · 19/07/2020 21:58

Old Agatha Christie films with Margaret Rutherford in the title role, she was so funny.

Aurorie11 · 20/07/2020 21:56

@Hiccupiscal what did you think to the Quiet Man? I love it
