Mr Big or Aiden?

Anyone else binge watching crap tv?

OP posts:

@HolyMolasses

I didn't ask about Steve or Harry

I like that fact that all the characters are flawed, that's what make the series.

Big for me, always.

Fine, fine - Big then. Aidan had a grunge-mullet and beady eyes, and was wet and moany. Although Big went a bit weird in the series when he moves to California and becomes some kind of golfing pensioner before his time 😕
Minesril · 11/07/2020 10:04

Didn't Steve cheat because Miranda said stuff like 'let's just get this over with'? I mean, it doesn't excuse it, but ouch!

I like Harry. And Smith...was he the one who shaved his hair when Samantha got cancer?

CatBatCat · 11/07/2020 10:21

Who is Dr Robert? Don't remember him.

Marmaladey · 11/07/2020 10:51

For a minute I had Smith mixed up with Berger and thought you had all gone mad.

BananaPop2020 · 11/07/2020 10:59

Oh Dr Robert 😍😍😍

Dozer · 11/07/2020 11:06

The films must be excluded: dire.

Flymetothetoon · 11/07/2020 14:34

@KnobChops

Big was much better than Aiden, he just wanted a quiet life, which he knew he wouldn’t get with mad Carrie. Aiden awful controlling and insecure type. Carrie awful, needy, selfish. Would have ended up alone in real life.

There is no way Steve would have cheated on Miranda in real life, he adored her and wasn’t the type. I’ve wiped these awful films from my memory.
Harry was a sweet and straightforward man, and funny.
Smith was just lovely, they would have ended up married (again, that awful film).
Remember the hot detective that Miranda dated? He was cut and a nice man. She fucked that up.
Dr Robert suited Miranda much more than Steve did.
I loved Samantha, she was a wonderful friend to the others.

Pretty sure that hot detective was George Cloony!

The films must be excluded, they were an aberration and Steve is off the hook.

I always felt it was more that as a working class man Steve was unsure how to fit into Miranda’s work world.

Dr Robert seemed too smooth and confident to me for Miranda. Her character was pretty itchy and uncomfortable with the world and I think she needed someone else who was an outsider, like Steve.

MissClementine · 11/07/2020 15:59

Mr Big definitely.

JaneJeffer · 11/07/2020 18:56

Mr Big. Aiden was a control freak with no lips.

ZZGirl · 11/07/2020 18:58

I really like both of them. Aiden was a sweetheart but him and Carrie weren't compatible. He didn't keep Carrie on her toes like she needed. Mr Big does that

GracieLane · 11/07/2020 19:04

Absolutely neither. But Carrie was worse. I love Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte, but can't watch it because Carrie is so annoying!

justjuggling · 11/07/2020 19:43

Aidan. Totally, definitely, absolutely. Aidan.

Xmasbaby11 · 11/07/2020 19:57

Big for Carrie!

For me - Harry!

amusedbush · 11/07/2020 20:54

Neither. I actually really liked Aleksandr but Carrie tanked that by being... well... Carrie. He was a proper grown up who wanted to give her the world but she felt ignored when he had a stressful week at work, preparing for his first gallery exhibit in years. It wasn’t cool that he asked her to miss her party, though. However he was upfront and told her what he wanted with no game playing. Carrie was just addicted to the drama.

Harry was 100% the best, I love him to bits.

IHaveBrilloHair · 11/07/2020 21:11

Aleksandr was awful, but you know I feel Carrie would have done the exact same thing he did, by pretty much being a self centred twat.

amusedbush · 11/07/2020 23:02

I’m interested to hear why you think he was awful - genuinely, not being snarky!

If Carrie had just given him a bit longer for his work to settle down, things would have been better. She gave a huge dramatic speech about how the love she was looking for wasn’t in their hotel room, but she based it all on him ‘ignoring’ her while he was up to his eyes in work stuff. She didn’t give Paris a chance, though it didn’t help that Miranda openly disliked Aleksandr and told her to go home.

Overall though, she and Big deserved each other. They’re both selfish arseholes Grin

heynori · 11/07/2020 23:11

Mr Big. I never liked Aiden, he's a bit of a wet lettuce.

IHaveBrilloHair · 12/07/2020 00:22

@amusedbush
He was horrible to her friends, he left her alone after making a big deal about needing her.
I just don't think he was a decent guy.

Iverunoutofnames · 12/07/2020 00:31

Big, he was honest and he never tried to change her. Aiden tried to change her and freaked when she wouldn’t.
Carrie was a twat over the wedding, big was entirely in the right.

Was he horrible to them, though? Miranda found his arrogant but I don’t think he was horrible. He was just very different to the men Carrie had been with previously.

Clearly this is the hill I’ve chosen to die on Grin

He slapped Carrie. He put his work first and belittled hers. He was controlling, for example the dress. His ex wife clearly didn't like him. He was aloof towards her friends. He seemed embarrassed by them. He had a bloody high opinion of himself.

He did slap her, in such narrow terms. He walked forward to help her and she moved and it was a really unfortunate accident.

What dress? The one he bought her as a gift because she saw it in a magazine and said she loved it?
