If you were going to Weston-super-mare where would you stay?

DH wants to take the children on a small break (hopefully) at the beginning of sept once the schools have (potentially) gone back.

He wants to go to Weston-super-mare for roughly 4 nights as it’s where he went as a child.

I’ve got no idea where to even start looking and neither does he

Children would be 2yrs and 6 months by that point

We live literally as far from the sea as you can get at the moment so neither has been to the beach at all

Where would you suggest to stay? Thinking along the lines of nice static caravan/lodge?

If you can get to the East coast in 2 hours, the Definitely go there over Weston-Super-Mud.
It's beautiful there.

I’ve never been to the beach, but there’s other places like Puxton Park there- for children

I have lived in both Norfolk and WSM and Norfolk is much much nicer (Hunstanton is not like WSM at all). OP, if you want South Coast go just a little further to Devon or Dorset. WSM is very run down and doesn’t feel very safe these days. Keep the childhood memories as good ones :)

I'd go to Lyme Regis. It's the perfect seaside town.

What did you do in the end OP? Did you go to WSM, or did you heed the advice on here? If you went, what was the verdict?

@JaJaDingDong in the end we thought, if we’re going away let’s go somewhere nice so braving the drive and heading to Cornwall next month. Will mainly be wandering around the beach or in our little rented house so won’t be around people too much but should be a nice change of scene
