Hello. Please may I join in? I've been reading these threads for weeks but haven't been brave enough to jump in. (Bear with me, I'm not very familiar with posting on internet forums).
All this covid stuff is doing my head in, so much that I've finally joined mumsnet.
Hit a new low today when I had to wear not one but two masks at the same time to do something at work that wasn't actually that risky in terms of catching you-know-what.
Was told yesterday that there will be a second wave in October, and it's true because Matt Wanksock personally briefed someone who works for the NHS who knows my mum.
My mum forgets I work for the NHS too. I'm still waiting for my personal briefing from Our Dear Leader.
Although if he were to turn up (no doubt with his pink tie tucked into his shirt, wearing a mask, & sleeves rolled up, pretending to look like a consultant on a ward round) I will happily shout, "TWO METRES!" at him and add a "BACK OFF!" for good measure.
There, I feel better now.

I think that the Ds have forgotten D day, Beaches, Protests, Non essential shops opening. All of which have not led to spikes.

It seems to me that there is a certain type of D who wants to micromanage everyone and is really rather nasty.

@TheOrchidKiller welcome. I don't believe in a second wave. I am more of the view that there will be local hotspots and action. But could be wrong. I don't work for the NHS though and have no inside track on our beloved leaders thoughts.

People are breaking the ruuuuuuuuules. But when you say, yeah but cases are going down. And they say, yes, because of lock down. But surely if so many people are rule breaking, it can't be because of that can it?

Rubberdinghy Ds claim that most people (aka everyone except them) are ignoring lockdown and are the idiots in description 1 but at the same time claim that we are only low because we aren't going out. Is that right tea ?
