Slight tweak to the suggestion, but here it is.

@Mascotte
Tell him from us he’s only allowed if he behaves himself
Otherwise he’s back into lockdown lol
That should sort him

Willow2017 · 06/07/2020 21:53

Ahhh so it was wolves spreading the virus all along. 🤔

deliberately misses point.

Teateaandmoretea · 06/07/2020 21:54

How about ‘dogs can’t catch covid’ or ‘covid is the least of his worries’

RubberDinghyRapids · 06/07/2020 21:54

Ah I see. I can see why one would give someone comfort (that the restrictions are working) so therefore the potential for that to be undone by the second (people not adhering) would be very frightening/rage inducing.

I suspect that most people in RL are somewhere in the middle. The odd adjustment or roolz bending here or there but mostly adhering to it. At each end of the scale are the extremes (spraying the postie with dettol vs. hosting orgies) and the overall, cumulative effect has pushed it in the right direction.

Mascotte · 06/07/2020 21:54

@Dowser 😂 that should fix him.

RubberDinghyRapids · 06/07/2020 21:56

Sorry, after first paragraph should say "but they can't exist at the same time".

Fucking knackered today so head slooooow.

DominaShantotto · 06/07/2020 21:58

Pleased to report that the kids, upon learning their grandmother is a councillor in a council that haven’t opened playgrounds, sustained an in depth interrogation session to make sure she hasn’t even thought of voting to keep them closed!

Knowing my mum she is likely to march them into the council chamber to tell the others what for! Knowing my kids- they would succeed!

The number of caravan threads I go on and spout off on That get closed down are no ones business
Does caravan owning attract a certain mindset
I’m beginning to think It does.

Nihiloxica · 06/07/2020 21:59

So Covid is really after little children and it's just pretending to go after the elderly so it can trick children into being its prey?

Yeah, that is pretty much consistent with Dementor beliefs, to be fair.

Nihiloxica · 06/07/2020 22:00

I guess The Second Wave is when "grandma" leaps out of bed and chomps the children.

Whoop to pester power!

DS2 is very disarming at that type of thing with a dangerous combination of a cherubic baby face, but very persuasive, articulate straight talking and no qualms about talking to anyone.

He's now an expert on things like McDonalds Drive Thrus and Aldi till systems after his barrages of direct questions. Grin

Thanks for your swift welcomes. I think I will fit right in too, IAintentdead. The sad thing is that my lovely DM has gone dementory & I forgive her because she has severe anxiety and this is doing terrible things to her head. Before March she'd think nothing of hopping on a train with a crowd of friends for a day out & now she's terrified to go for a walk round the park if its too busy. She was a nurse too so it's not like she doesn't know about infections & risk.
My equally lovely, outgoing, living & loving life DF seems to have lost confidence. He got the dreaded official shielding letter at the start but recently found out he needn't have shielded after all. But he's still anxious about going out - but maybe he just wants a quiet life from being dementored. I understand, but it's heart-breaking to see two busy, outgoing, non-stereotypical retired adults old before their time.
They live too far away for me to just pop in to sit in the garden. Technically I could now stay over at theirs ("No, Mum, the police won't arrest you") but she's so anxious that this isn't even up for discussion right now. I haven't seen them for 6 months (we cancelled my planned Mother's Day visit). If she's believing all this second wave stuff I'm wondering just when I will be permitted to visit?
I believe we should be cautious about covid, but not shut away forever.
On a positive note, I walked past the playground in the park yesterday & there were loads of kids and families having an absolute blast, it was a beautiful sight. My two are almost grown up now so no trips to the swings here.

BogRollBOGOF · 06/07/2020 22:13

I've had a 10 page catch up session after a busy day of living. (Please can I join the fb page)

Resucitated the economy single handedly at Decathlon. DS2 has spent his birthday money 3 months later.
Practicing his new sport... which is dangerously funny to watch.
Class zoom
Walk including use of the tradesman's entrance at a playground that's still locked on the front gate. Christening several of the wares purchased at Decathlon.
Cooking decent food for dinner.

The DCs have a booking for Karate in the Park next week. Even a few ad hoc sessions will be good to revive their skills, and just doing something as part of a group.

DS2 was chatting with a y1 for a little while while we played out on the green too.

I've spent most of the last week in a pretty good mood. Particularly good considering my usual hormonal balance at this point of the month.

With things opening up, I've got a bit of summer holiday vibe again.

Paradiseinportugal · 06/07/2020 22:14

It was on FWR that I first learned the term cognitive dissonance. It's a great phrase and very useful at times. I don't have the patience to argue with dementors. It's not important enough.
They believe what they want to believe. I don't agree.

RubberDinghyRapids · 06/07/2020 22:23

@Paradiseinportugal Erm.... I've never been brave enough to ask this (because I'm a teensy bit scared of the FWR women), but what does it stand for?

I assume not PHWOAR which is what my head always says when I see it

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 06/07/2020 22:26

Feminism and Women’s Rights, @RubberDinghyRapids. I lurk there a lot but don’t post, I’m not clever enough (but have nicked a number of arguments for use at work).

incognitomum · 06/07/2020 22:26

MrIncog and I are staying in a pub tonight. The strictness of following arrows has lessened as the night went on. Even the landlady said she keeps forgetting.

It's weird seeing them clean every surface when people leave the table.

Landlady said she can only cope with having a few rooms open as there's so much cleaning to do before and after. The rooms are very minimal now.

Feminism and Women's Rights, I think.

They are the best women. I love that board.

The FOMO thing is funny. Men hate missing out @Mascotte

Well grand kids go back to nursery tomorrow, mum very anxious and on her last nerve. I said the first time for everything can be hard. I want to go to the pub sit outside with a glass of wine, OH a bit of a dementor says oh no. Personally I think we need to start doing these things so that the fear slips away. Three months ago I was jumpy in the supermarket, jumpy when someone walked by too close but I got used to it. Guess I need a pub crawl to get over the fear of pubs Grin

FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY is my motto.
