I have only read last few posts as I'm at work but I'm so up for a fb group x

justasking111 · 06/07/2020 13:53

Re: nastiness on mumsnet. One member let fly at me a cloud of bad language, I complained/reported saying I did not join mumsnet to be insulted in this way, they did remove the post.

LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard · 06/07/2020 13:54

I deleted Facebook app a few days ago and loathe to bring it back yet, my hormonal rage couldn't cope with social media and I was being a bit too much of a bitch (or at least tempted to be!).
I'll probably join eventually (FOMO) but mostly stick here.

Dowser · 06/07/2020 13:55

@Willow2017
No problem
Twice is better than not at all

torydeathdrug · 06/07/2020 14:03

I have spent the morning arguing with the fucking NHS.
There is no end to my rage.

Thank fuck there was no bloody clapping here yesterday. That would have thrown me over the edge Angry

Willow2017 · 06/07/2020 14:04

Found you at last. 😁

GrrrrrrArghhhhh · 06/07/2020 14:07

@incognitomum I'm in... have messaged you...thanks for organising...

Willow2017 · 06/07/2020 14:09

What crap are they telling you Tory?
Vent away on here.

DominaShantotto · 06/07/2020 14:10

Can someone message me for FB please? Sick of the virtue signalling on here

trappedsincesundaymorn · 06/07/2020 14:11

Afternoon all. I'll join the FB page if you'll let me. I'll warn you all in advance, the profile pic is an accurate representation of my weirdness though.

Mr T (as he is now calling himself....quite why though is anybody's guess, he's 5'10, skinny as a broom, has an allergy to jewellery and loves flying!), is doing his first shift today. It's very quiet here and I accidentally made a cup of coffee for him earlier, took it to his "study"...well computer room...where he wasn't. I did the decent thing though and drank it for him. Grin

Me too please? Or tell me what to look for on fb?
Dowser · 06/07/2020 14:15

@ibake
I hope york recovers enough so that we can all have a meet up
Sadly it’s a shadow of its normal self

justasking111 · 06/07/2020 14:16

Bloody rewind Wimbledon is on now. Weird. Yvonne Goolagong wow I feel old. Grin

Spudlet · 06/07/2020 14:16

I’m trying to limit my time on Facebook so I’ll stick to here Smile

Had an electrician in to give us a quote this morning. He said he was really quiet at the moment 😕 Hope it picks up for him soon.

We’re in a bit of a pickle today as DS has started up with some quite concerning behaviour - biting his arms. Really hard! I think it’s a reaction to frustration and stress but I don’t know where to turn for advice. We were given his diagnosis over the phone a few days before lockdown and now we’ve just been left to it, with nowhere really to turn to and no support. I’m really worried for children and families like ours, we’re sort of flailing around not knowing what to do.

I did find a number for a local ASD organisation, but it went through to a call screened number - not sure if there was an error on their website or what, but I couldn’t get through. I’ve emailed the local branch of the NAS but don’t know if or when I’ll hear back. I just feel a bit abandoned at the moment 😕

Dowser · 06/07/2020 14:17

@trappedsincesundaymorn lol at Mr T

Mr Dowser quite likes his nickname..heck we weren’t even into dowsing when we met
Now we are wanting to go one step further and join the pagans ..when york gets back to normal..if ever

Gawd..he’s weird 😂

justasking111 · 06/07/2020 14:18

I actually had a new baby and still saw this match, the weather was glorious baby in pram in garden, tv facing outward of patio doors so I could watch it, sunbathe and keep an eye on a month old baby. Multi tasking mamma.

Dowser · 06/07/2020 14:19

@spudlet
That’s sad and concerning
I really hope you can get some help
From the very short time I spent doing some family workshops, pillow fights are a great way of letting children get all their anger and aggression out .
It sounds like he’s turning anger and frustration in on himself.

torydeathdrug · 06/07/2020 14:19

pharmacy - 'lost' dh's prescription
GP - lost dh's CT scan results
paed - discharged ds from everything 'cos covid' need to start with new referrals (SALT OT dietitian CAMHS)
gynae - 'lost' my complaint
GP - going to do a private referral to gynae cos the NHS are so fucking shit but can't say how long it will take
endo - only seeing ppl by zoom 'cos covid' .... not sure how they will do a fucking BRAIN MRI by zoom but hey innovation!
orthopaedics - might take 18-24 months before I get seen to complete (re start now) the treatment that was suspended 'cos covid' in the mean time I am in constant pain & barely mobile some days. Need to chase GP for private referral
haematology - won't even answer the fucking phone
dentists - NOT SAFE 'cos covid'

Private hospital - all their beds are given over to NHS 'cos covid' (& empty) FUCKERS so who knows when I'll get seen even when referrals are done.

Lazy fucking bastards.

justasking111 · 06/07/2020 14:24

We are getting nowhere with NHS or private for OH urgent operation back in March, the NHS want to hang onto the hospitals treasury saying no coz they are empty. Consultants want to work their body is getting nowhere either. So sorry @torydeathdrug it is so frustrating. I thought to myself if the Queen got sick now where could she go.

torydeathdrug · 06/07/2020 14:30

@justasking111 it's like driving into a brick wall at speed - they literally don't give a toss about treating people or the consequences of not. The ortho guy actually admitted he was sitting at home making calls, doing no clinical work & was bored. But hey as long as we don't Sadly Die then illness, disability & death are just fine.

Ibake · 06/07/2020 14:33

That's shocking @tory. What about writing to Wanksock? Surely it's important that his inbox fills up with stuff like this?

justasking111 · 06/07/2020 14:34

It is just awful the private hospital are asking for referrals for cancer etc. because they are clean hospitals, the nhs saying nah, no thanks, the whole idea of BUPA SPIRE was to take on these patients, but the NHS will not refer them. I pay annually up front end of February for the family, others pay monthly many have gone back on NHS lists in desperation which is not good for the private sector. I do wonder if folk are cancelling DDs. I read Spire are keen to sign up to the NHS which is why I wondered.

Willow2017 · 06/07/2020 14:38

Wow Tory that one long list of fucking uselessness.
How dare they treat people like that? Hospitals are half bloody empty you would think a hospital of all places could work out a way of seeing patients away from covid patients ffs! No wonder you are raging.

I have to say my local haematology (40 miles away) have been good at keeping in touch and sending forms out so my bloods can get done at local HC. Also get a follow up call next day. I just phoned to order meds no problem. It might be different if i had to actually see someone face to face about something else though.

Keep complaining they need to know how they are failing people.

Mrsfrumble · 06/07/2020 14:44

Spudlet my DS has ASD and occasionally bites himself when stressed. We haven’t worked out how to stop him, but at least he’s never broken the skin. I do worry about someone seeing bite marks on his arms and thinking he’s being abused (along with his extreme thinness and usual covering of scrapes and bruises, it doesn’t look great). I wish I could say something more helpful. Who does the assessments in your area? Was it CAMHs?

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 06/07/2020 14:49

@torydeathdrug do you NEED the GP referral? Reason I ask is that I went private last year and he asked me who referred me. I replied “I did, is that a problem?”. Money talks. Tbh I didn’t even consider asking my GP because I lived abroad so long and am so used to just going straight to the specialist I need.

@Spudlet I sympathise greatly - my youngest has been chowing down on his feet, which are now stripped of skin, bloody and leaking pus. Poor wee lad.

Have any of you ever had reflexology? Any thoughts? Someone gave me a session yesterday and said I was carrying a huge amount of stress. “I’m fuelled by caffeine, adrenaline, cortisol and nicotine”. Seriously, middle of a pandemic,
Single mum, financial shit, legal shit, probate shit - can’t think of a single reason I wouldn’t be feeling #soblessed.
