On the subject of struggling kids. I've just had a request for one of DD's friends to come here for the night as she can't cope with her family any more. This is the third request ( 2 different kids) in as many weeks. This one has walked out of her dad's house as she says he's spending all the time pissed and she can't cope, so it's an emergency situation, and I've agreed just for one night, to take some of the heat out of things, as long as her dad knows where she is and agrees.

Like many things had track and trace been implemented sooner, I'd have done my civic duty as required. But now I'm absolutely fucked ( excuse my language) if me or my family is going to stay in because of a virus we've already had - but can't get confirmation even if we pay for it ourselves.

I feel like a horrible person, I'm now totally reduced to a position of I'll do what's right for me and my family, and if it impacts old or vulnerable people - well they've had enough warning to stay in. They can do what my parents do and simply don't go out - DM says she'd rather do that indefinitely than have everyone else including her DGS having to do it.

Can you not get tested at your GP yet? We've just been allowed to test patients in the last week, I offered a patient a test this morning. We're not advertising the fact, but if the GP or Nurse thinks they would benefit then we're allowed to do one. Especially if already taking bloods for something else.

An extended lockdown over winter would have me “taking to my bed” for months on end. Whilst I do live a simple life, I need a view. The thing about a winter lockdown is that it would totally fuck the economy.

Ireland locked down with unseemly enthusiasm and the CMO has been clear that there won't be another full lockdown.

I know Dementors are happy to return to a pre-modern lifestyle if they get to continue their restrictions and control, but I'm not sure any democratic governments will be up for that.

No she hasn't @Nihiloxica, first time I searched it wasn't there and then when I went back it was. It's not actually the wanksock pic, it's a pint. I've just been DM'd by one of you with real fb name and was able to message so feel free to do that. Also, in order to check security I've clicked on the few names who are currently on there and, if you've got your profile locked down tight, then you can't see anything else so hopefully that should reassure you all. (Not because I'm nosy, not at all!)
