I would usually go to Mirrie Dancers but they're closed atm.

So after recommendations for a really exciting fancy box of chocolates (not bloody Belgian gianduja pralines, something really gorgeous and different) as a thank you for someone who has gone over and above for me recently...

Thank you Flowers

If you want to send cake, Hettie's Kitchen brownies are the best!

I used Chococo last year and they were fabulous! - look really snazzy and you get some really fab flavours.

Another Paul A Young vote here. I used to work opposite one of his shops. I cannot tell you how amazing it smelt!

I love Leonidas. DH ‘s best friend and wife give me a box for Christmas every year...I only realised last year that they’re over €50!!

ArtichokeAardvark · 01/07/2020 22:59

Another vote for Paul Young.

However, I'd say go off piste and send macarons instead, looks much more 'thought' than a box of chocs. Laduree are the obvious choice but a friend of a friend runs Mademoiselle Macaron and they do amazing macaron gift boxes by post.

Place marking, have got to check these out!

I've also saved this thread to see what other posh chocs I need to buy.

The only one I can't see that's not been mentioned that I like the look of is Melchior.

Nice to see a few mentions for Lauden. I keep meaning to get some of those - as well as interesting flavours, they have a really distinctive 'look'.

Chococo is amazing. Really interesting flavours and all locally sourced in the Dorset area.

@BoobsOnTheMoon I'm just coming back here to say if you do go with Paul A Young, then maybe throw in a couple of his brownie bites because they are orgasmic!
I work near the Soho shop and I pick a few up every now and then for little gifts, or to take if we're going to stay with people. They are small but so rich and delicious.

I'm now online in the shop thinking of ordering something as a treat for me DH.

I had a Paul A Young port and stilton truffle five Christmasses ago that I still think about at least once a week, it was that good.

I had Pierre Marcolini for Christmas... and they really weren't all that. There are still some left in the box in the cupboard!
