Me too @mascotte feels so dystopian and the sheeple are just so unquestioning. I always thought of myself as independent but didn't think I was especially rebellious, I now know that if push comes to shove I'll go down fighting!

Sockyarn I'm up for it. I'll go with a Haz Mat suit though.(Can't be too careful) and several layers of padding just in case I'm hit by a car in the carpark. Though from now on I'll be taking all of my meals in liquid form to avoid the risks of choking so I'm afraid that I can't join you for cake.

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 13:34

Well with the UK as a whole throwing our care home folk under the bus, not sure how bad it will be this winter we have brought deaths forward for the vulnerable by ignoring them.

NannyPhlegm · 02/07/2020 13:34

I have decided Drakeford and Sturgeon are not getting sex so are miserable, Boris is getting plenty so is more lax.

Now that has put some very unwelcome images in my head yukk
If we carry that theme forward, I suspect Wanksock isn't getting any. While Raab and Sunak look pretty loved up

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 13:35

Wales news woopy doo we can eat outside from 13th July, has the daft woman not noticed our weather patterns in the summer. [bangs head]

DesmondTheMoonbear · 02/07/2020 13:36

Fuck me. Some of the comments on the BBC comments section about face covering in stores. People saying that if you don't like wearing masks in shops then you won't want your surgeon to wear a mask. Have I been doing shopping wrong all these years? I thought that I was supposed to be choosing between chicken thighs, steak or pork kebabs from the shelves, not rummaging around in my fellow shoppers' intestines like Hannibal Lecter.

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 13:38

@DesmondTheMoonbear I just can't look it's like they're getting off on it. It's so fucking weird!!!

@Ibake thank goodness for this thread. I've taken a beta blocker and need to calm down

MaudesMum · 02/07/2020 13:40

Group of speakers on R4 at the moment, pointing out that an additional lockdown in Leicester is a "blunt tool", and that a much better way of dealing with this would have been to have spent the last few months developing a much better Track and Trace system. Really good to hear an alternative point of view being taken seriously.

SockYarn · 02/07/2020 13:40

Lots of people are fucking thick, @DesmondTheMoonbear. The risks in shops are so, so low.

We were in and out of shops all over Glasgow Fort this week, few greeters at the door wearing visors but the only staff wearing masks were the staff in Pandora who spend quite some time with each customer.

Sallycinnamum · 02/07/2020 13:41

I don't know if any of you listen to LBC but James O'Brien is a dementor through and through.

A great deal of what he said about Brexit was spot on but I've had to turn the radio off when he's on now.

I think if he had his way we'd be totally locked down for another 12 months but then he's got plenty of money in the bank and doesn't have to worry about losing his job.

DesmondTheMoonbear · 02/07/2020 13:44

They definitely are getting off on it. This has fuck all to do with keeping anyone safe and everything to do with control.

Drivingdownthe101 · 02/07/2020 13:44

Just had a rant about NS to DH... he listened then said ‘I didn’t know you had such a strong opinion of her’. Told him it was fuelled by my new Scottish in-line anti-dementor friends on here Grin.
Anyway, he conceded that she is, in fact, an idiot.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 02/07/2020 13:46

@SockYarn I thought it must be the Fort... you said people were well-behaved so that rules out the Forge. 😂

Was just telling the kids this morning I didn’t want to live in a society where we all had to wear masks - it seems non-human somehow. I used to see pics of people in Hong Kong and it disturbed me - although I couldn’t articulate why.

DesmondTheMoonbear · 02/07/2020 13:46

I've been planning a move to England. I think I'll be making that move sooner rather than later.

countrygirl99 · 02/07/2020 13:46

Yay - wedding is confirmed for next Wednesday.
Still waiting to find out what is happening with dad.

DominaShantotto · 02/07/2020 13:48

My 8 year old wants to email Boris to tell him he's a "floppy haired moron and she wants to go back to normal school"

I have nooooo idea where she's learnt the phrase "floppy haired moron"

The schools guidance actually worried me with the mentions of schools being able to continue social distancing if they deemed it appropriate - that'll be our arsehole parents voting for that crap then. I've just had to email the senco and class teacher for September to warn them that if they go down the parent-pleasing social distancing of doom approach (and remind them that I am perfectly happy with undistanced bubbles), DD2 has NOOOOOO spatial awareness whatsoever as a result of her SN. Very nice and polite but I'm prepared to cry disability discrimination if required.

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 13:48

Annoyingly, my DP is one who swallows the NS can do no wrong stuff. And he's not bothered by blind obedience, doesn't care. He's very sick of me, I think.

Drivingdownthe101 · 02/07/2020 13:48

Online, not in-line!

Bollss · 02/07/2020 13:48

Have you seen the thread on the school guidelines? Depressing. Much dementoring and being "terrified" and quite a bit of IT WON'T HAPPEN.

A few lonely positive posts!

Mascotte · 02/07/2020 13:49

Good news though @countrygirl99

I can’t read them anymore. I have decided to stay happily in my little bubble where I know the headmistress and all the staff at our school are desperate to have all children back full time from September and will do whatever they can to make that work.

They're all going to need bereavement counselling if this goes away and they can't be terrified and doomy over it anymore.
Lickyicelollies · 02/07/2020 13:50

I'm in Scotland. Hearing about masks being compulsory in shops makes me want to cry. Totally fucking ridiculous. U have to wear sodding masks at work (hospital doctor) and now this?! Just shoot me now.

MaudesMum · 02/07/2020 13:51

I can totally see the point of facemasks on public transport, especially the tube, where you are often wedged very close to people for quite some time. But for shops and other similar spaces, when the levels in the general population are so low, it seems so very unnecessary...

justasking111 · 02/07/2020 13:51

I put on a welsh forum re: lockdown that if you were in the public sector or unemployed then it was ok to do so. But the private sector was a different kettle of fish job wise. Only one person blustered that they were in private industry, the rest agreed.
