I’m so sorry, I was typing quickly in a bit of a rant, yes I did forget it was more to protect the NHS and we wouldn’t have wanted to get an illness/injury and not to have been able to have it dealt with. I do really appreciate shielded people’s anxieties too and feel sad that they have been made to feel more anxious than is necessary, the letter sounds so frightening and I appreciate how lucky I am not to be in that group. And yes of course they have made sacrifices too. I really don’t blame them at all. They all need your positive attitude! I saw a patient yesterday whose anxiety was palpable, her first trip out the house since March! The outside world has sadly got more frightening for some people the longer they have stayed inside. All these knock on psychological effects will affect some people for the rest of their lives, they will never feel safe partaking in normal life again.

I'd tuned in thinking there was going to be something substantive about children but it turned out to be that kids under 11 get to not socially distance. Feeling distinctly underwhelmed.

We're doing really well, numbers are down a lot, I'm opening up beer gardens, you can travel more than 5 miles and go to the islands, kids can play with their friends without socially distancing.

But I'm making masks compulsory.

Agree, Mascotte. I will be avoiding shops. And considering not going back to my volunteering position in a charity shop because it's certainly not my job to police the wearing of face coverings.

DD and I were at a busy shopping mall type place in Glasgow this week and everyone was being SO well behaved. Socially distancing. Sanitising hands when asked to do so. Queuing without complaint. Masks are so unnecessary.
