My partner has turned yellow and I am scared

Over the last couple of weeks his skin and eye whites have turned yellow, he also has dark urine which has not improved despite upping his fluid intake by at least an extra 2 litres a day, he is more tired than usual too. I don't want to scare myself witless and Google. He has called the GP and is having blood tests tonight.

I've also been following and keeping my fingers crossed. I'm so sorry about your news. Pancreatic Cancer Action is an excellent place for information and resources if you want to talk to people who've been through it.

Thinking of you.

BitOfFun · 20/07/2020 22:58

What an awful shock for you, I'm really sorry to hear it. I hope you feel able to take up @TheVanguardSix on her kind offer when you're ready, and take any support going. Sending hugs and a handhold for now Flowers.

Big hugs for you. I'm so sorry you got the outcome you were so desperately hoping to avoidFlowers

Thank you all. I had a pretty sleepless night and when I did fall asleep Smallest Baby decided to wake up for a night feed for the first time in weeks, then when I managed to settle Smallest, Biggest Baby woke up as he is cutting another tooth (they are three months and eight months old, we're foster parents) so I think sleep and I were not good friends last night. DP slept OK, he has discovered that Piriton relieves the itch enough for him to be able to sleep for more than an hour at a time. He's gone off for his last day at work for a while and I am waiting for Biggest and Smallest to wake from their naps so we can go out for a walk. I keep crying randomly but I am sure that will stop.

Sorry to read this update. I also feared that this would be the cause as my dad had the exact same problem and cause. Can you find out if they are doing a Whipple surgery on your partner as well as the stent?

Good luck and hope your partner is one of the lucky ones!

onalongsabbatical · 21/07/2020 11:07

bloodywhitecat I'm glad your dp managed a decent night's sleep at least. Small blessings. I hope you and your babies have a beautiful relaxing walk, too. What a lot of bitter and sweet is in your life right now, you must be full of emotions. Flowers

Children's piriton worked best for me as it didn't make me feel drowsy.

Stay strong for tomorrow and the little ones will hopefully keep you occupied.

Thing of you and your husband OP x

bloodywhitecat · 22/07/2020 18:14

No surgery today. He's on the ward and on a Vit K drip in preparation for the biopsy on Friday, he's having it by endoscope so they want to make sure his blood clotting is OK.

OP posts:
Ginfordinner · 22/07/2020 18:17

Wilberforce1 · 22/07/2020 18:19
