Over the last couple of weeks his skin and eye whites have turned yellow, he also has dark urine which has not improved despite upping his fluid intake by at least an extra 2 litres a day, he is more tired than usual too. I don't want to scare myself witless and Google. He has called the GP and is having blood tests tonight.

I'm so very sorry. I was hoping you'd come back and say no it's not that.

bloodywhitecat · 20/07/2020 18:17

From the scans and the blood tests he's been told it's a tumour.

OP, I have walked this walk with my brother and his ending has been a very happy one after initially receiving a diagnosis for the worst form of pancreatic cancer. When he was opened up for surgery, they were able to biopsy him like mad. So it is great that your DH is having surgery (I assume a Whipples procedure) because they can definitely find out the type of pancreatic cancer it is. They'll get a very clear idea of his type of pancreatic cancer thus enabling him to get the best type of treatment.

My brother had a Whipples procedure in Novemeber of 2017 and is doing great! It's a tough road, long-term, but he manages really, really well and his body has adapted to the changes. It's been a tough road- hell and back- but he's here and just so glad for it. If you want a handhold or any information about types of tumours or anything else, please PM me, anytime. Flowers I am terribly sorry that your news isn't good. I absolutely feel your pain and fear. Have hope. Have faith. And get all the support and love you need.

I am so sorry to hear this. I know you will be in shock right now, but I also wanted to add a voice of hope...

My father was diagnosed ten years ago with multiple large and small pancreatic tumors that proved be to be inoperable. Numerous tests and procedures (including a stent fitted), is on heavy duty medication (Creon being one), and had to undertake some lifestyle changes, but is still working and living his life as he always did.

This will be an utterly a terrifying time for you and your family so I wish you the very the best of love and luck.
