I'm really struggling with this.... And roblox. Problem is its the only way he's talking to his mates at the moment but my god I just can't engage. I'm really trying but arggggg

Oh god yes. And the trying to show me things on there. The jumping up and down and "Mum! Mum! Look at the crying obsidian!" and it doesn't stop until I pretend to be interested with all the right noises. Even then it's only a short respite until the next thing.

Worse than that, I’m a geologist. I was doing a career talk to some Y6s and was showing them samples of rocks with different characteristics etc, and they were all like “no Miss, that’s not sandstone, I know about sandstone from Minecraft”.

Crying obsidian is all I’ve heard for the last week.

Today we visited my uncle in his garden. DS (7) wanted to talk to my teenage cousin and they just spouted minecraft bollocks at each other for an hour. They both loved it and it saved me from listening to it.

I have however had to play minecraft Lego for 3 hours this afternoon. He really needs contact with some other kids!

Minecraft, roblox and some dragin game. I've gently tried to explain I'm really not that interested. Didn't work. I just space out and intermittently say: really, hmm, so cool, wow, well done. Fml. And wine, lots of wine 😁

DH watching the football. I’m on here and Whatspp. DS just came down and reeled off a great long speech and Fortnite and battle royals and some such. DH and I clearly made the right noises as he’s gone off quite happily but neither of us has a clue what he said. It’s like background noise really.

I was sooo pleased when my DD grew out of her Minecraft fixation.
Although I do still have to feign interest in Animal Crossing or Zelda at regular intervals but it's less numbing than Minecraft.

I feel bad about not listening properly, glad it’s not just me.

I have three dc, one is into Fortnite and Pokemon, one is into Roblox and WWE, and one is into Minecraft. Sometimes they all talk about different things at the same time.

DS2 has asked when the new update was out roughly every couple of hours since January. He is now making me join worlds with him to gather the new Nether materials to build a house. I fecking hate the Nether, gives me the jitters!

jerometheturnipking Yes! I keep getting irrationally peeved that DS2 isn't doing it 'right' in Animal Crossing and having to remind myself that it's his game, to keep him occupied. Although one day he opened my mail for me and I got the rage.

Plus endless talking about what vehicle he would build in Scrap Mechanic Survival - a game he doesn't even have and just watches YouTube videos about it.
