Fucking hell. This seems never ending.

Teateaandmoretea · 29/06/2020 21:20

@KaronAVyrus it’s posturing I think. They are showing what they think they can do.

NothingIsWrong · 29/06/2020 21:20

I had a friend inside my house for a cup of tea today. Sadly, we didn't die

BakewellTarts · 29/06/2020 21:21

The problem with being resusitated is the damage it does. Very rarely does it work the way it does on TV. Having a DNR is a valid choice at any age and a personal choice. It has nothing to do with not wanting to live.

fartingsparkles · 29/06/2020 21:21

I always wear make up and straighten my hair everyday. I look like a pig in a wig anyway, so every little helps.

BakewellTarts · 29/06/2020 21:22

I am hoping that the Leicester lockdown is basically what has already been announced with added hysteria. This seems to be how the media are reporting Covid.

Teateaandmoretea · 29/06/2020 21:23

It’s ridiculous though because surely if they want to go shopping etc people can just go to other towns 🤷🏻‍♀️

HesterShaw1 · 29/06/2020 21:25

Yes the thing about Leicester is that it's in the middle of the country. It's surrounded by other places.

Are they planning to confine everyone to barracks?

Ibake · 29/06/2020 21:25

I do love the randomness of the cross posts. Luckily we're all of the gallows humour variety so the occasional inappropriateness is what makes these threads even better! I'm in a good mood this evening as I've just binged Staged. Any of you seen it? On iplayer, David Tennant and Michael Sheen. It's just glorious and only 15mins/episode which is all my attention span can cope with atm. Highly recommend it.

Just hoping it’s not Leicestershire as a whole. Doesn’t seem that way so far.
MagdaS · 29/06/2020 21:27

It’s a fucking shit show. Pandemics have come and gone in the past but because we think we have all the medical knowledge to defeat it now (we don’t) and there should not be one unnecessary sadly death (there will) it is going to drag out for years.

And I was pissed off by some dementoring on Twitter from someone who was ‘bemused’ why anyone would choose to leave the house. Oh do fuck off.

BakewellTarts · 29/06/2020 21:27

I loved Good Omens so think I should catch up on Staged. How many eps is it?

BakewellTarts · 29/06/2020 21:28

@Drivingdownthe101 someone suggested locking down the whole of the East Midlands. Lets just hope its more hysteria.

Only 6. Their relationship is joyous. 'Tis very sweary and I know you are a sensitive bunch so did just want to give you advance warning Grin
MagdaS · 29/06/2020 21:31

Staged is 6 episodes. It’s good. It is literally the only telly I have watched during lockdown.

I think I mentioned that as it being my fear. People commute so much between the three cities here that it's likely to be the next threat. DD1's teacher (and meant to be DD2's next year comes up the motorway from there).

If our school has to close 3 days after the headmistress has managed to get all kids back in I think the headmistress will have an actual breakdown!

Jourdain11 · 29/06/2020 21:32

Switched on BBC Parliament to Matt Hancock saying "... this terrible virus".

Jon Ashworth looked really pissed off.

Willitneverend · 29/06/2020 21:33

Oh, plenty of people in Scotland think the whole of England should be locked up permanently. I would say "so we can go out", but they also seem very determined that people here shouldn't go out either. At least, if we do then we shouldn't enjoy ourselves and we should all wear masks always.

BakewellTarts · 29/06/2020 21:34

It would be seriously rubbish if that happened @Drivingdownthe101 fingers crossed it doesn't.

Mascotte · 29/06/2020 21:34

Part of my keeping up my grooming regime is in case I Sadly Die. Though more in case I'm murdered and there are photographs.

Willitneverend · 29/06/2020 21:34

If I was younger and had any musical talent I would form a rock group called the Sadly Dead.

torydeathdrug · 29/06/2020 21:34

""These Leicester-specific measures will apply not just to the city of Leicester, but also to the surrounding conurbation, including for example Oadby, Birstall and Glenfield," the Health Secretary said"

Not sure quite how surrounding he's talking about.

Jourdain11 · 29/06/2020 21:35

Nus Ghani asking why the fuck they're closing schools (I paraphrase). Matt Hancock going, "uh-uh-err, still working out, um, schools, um, don't know, um, children low risk but err, food processing factories."

About the best I've found detailing what's being done. Glenfield, Birstall, Oadby mentioned, schools closed, non essential retail and the relaxation stuff delayed.

I feel like crying. There is no hope.
