Started a new one.

Need to adhere to guidelines this time though.

We had a thunderstorm at 6am this morning so there were loads of puddles lying around for the sun to evaporate 🥵

HesterShaw1 · 26/06/2020 17:40

It does seem extremely engineered.

It's been cool and windy today in Cornwall. Our heatwave lasted 36 hours. Better than nothing!
Wow honest Head teacher

schoolsweek.co.uk/head-suspended-for-potentially-disparaging-remarks-about-teachers-hits-out/
From my practical experience of two teachers in the same school, the quality of work and effort varied significantly.

It is better since the start of the month where they send out the whole scheme for the week. Prior to that one teacher's was just in an unusable format and I gave up and went to bitesize after 2 weeks.

Even now one teacher finishes his day with his bubble and does a weekly zoom quiz with his original class. Other than functional setting of work, I haven't heard from the other... who teaches the DC with the SpLD collection and submits nothing.

We've done nothing today, but DS1 co-operating with video-physio was enough to be going on with. Lucky DS2 Wink

BogRollBOGOF · 26/06/2020 17:43

Friday is the prime day of the week for dementoring. Especially if the weather forcast looks too good Grin

I must be in a bored but resiliant mood today, I'm posting across the boards too much for my own good.

@Teateaandmoretea

I really am getting pissed off with the total lack of explanation as to why the numbers for the sad deaths outside hospital are so high. 70 hospital deaths and 189 total. Wtf.... where are all these people dying from Covid or are they actually from months ago?
What really pisses me off is that some of these are double counted so phe do negative adjustments when the clear their data.

I mean on the upside the infections this week are lower than last week.

The sad death data is so unreliable as they are pulling it from sources that were never created to do daily data.

They should have just stuck with the same parameters from start to finish. Instead it's been hospital deaths are lowering, let's add in care homes. They're lowering now so let's add in all settings. If they didn't have a positive test they should not be counted.

What next "quick it's getting low....let's add in anyone who talked about coronavirus before they died"

NothingIsWrong · 26/06/2020 17:53

Two of my children are at friends houses. The weather is so nice they will be in the garden. They are both in school with these children so I really couldn't see the harm.

How many people will die?

justasking111 · 26/06/2020 17:55

Interesting theory here I saw on a post today, do not know how true it is but gave me pause.

I call it the roller coaster ride...in mental mind control there are three things they use to coerce you:

 1. Fear
 2. Isolation
 3. Uncertainty
HesterShaw1 · 26/06/2020 17:56

I just dont know what to think any more. Nothing appears to be truthful or reliable. Feels like we're floundering through a big muck of indecipherable half truths and distortions. It's really unsettling.

SeaOtterFluff · 26/06/2020 17:57

DD2 hasn't had a prom or leavers do, so she and a group of friends organised their own party. She has spent the afternoon in a friend's garden wearing her eye-wateringly expensive dress, posing for photos and drinking mocktails. They all look so lovely, I had a little weep at the Instagram photos. Not a mask between them.
I also found out that the leadership team of the sixth form at her school has been doing weekly phone calls or emails with every single Yr11. The school has been lowest grade Ofsted for a few years, but I can't believe the pastoral care in a crisis.

All true. That's exactly how abusers get to you isn't it?

There is that Fear, uncertainty and doubt thing reminds me of that too
How they sell you things using it

Not sure why that isn't working but anyway

justasking111 · 26/06/2020 18:04

It is how cults work.

justasking111 · 26/06/2020 18:10

Government is working on the nudge theory which Cummings is a great fan of. Once I worked that out, everything falls into place. Add in fear, isolation and uncertainty you have a potent mix to control a group or nation. Higher figures on a Friday (nudge)

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 26/06/2020 18:13

drivingdown it’s cocktail hour. What can I get you? I have no ice, loads of lemons, dregs of gin and some Valium.

nothingiswrong mine came home soaking head to foot yesterday as they’d been lying down in the stream with a friend. Hundreds dead maybe, but happy as Larry they were.

Orangeblossom78 · 26/06/2020 18:15

Yes! I read they are using that for Brexit too, trying to make us think of 'new opportunities' apparently. I don't trust it all. I am starting to feel I want nothing to do with any of it, not even the testing, the tracing, just going to try ad avoid as much of it all as possible. I wish we had something like in the Netherlands where they do try and avoid the virus but it is not such a massive fuss. They seem to manage Ok as well.

Orangeblossom78 · 26/06/2020 18:18

Wow that cults link is very similar to some of the dementing on here! Scary

Teateaandmoretea · 26/06/2020 18:21

Some interesting thoughts. It is certain that we are not being told the truth about anything.

I’m out again tonight. One benefit is friends have more time for me 🍸.

LadyOfTheImprovisedBath · 26/06/2020 18:23

I'm pretty sure they used nudge stuff to get us all to stay home.

However I think the Westminster government would like us back all working now before the ecomony crumbles and the kids in school as presiding over an attainment gap massively widening isn't a good look for for a government that already looks elitist.

justasking111 · 26/06/2020 18:23

Insane - wow just realised that not only is it cocktail hour but DS bought his DF a bottle of gin and two limes for fathers day, I have the fever tonic so am now sitting here with a huge gin and tonic. Thank you for reminding me. Grin

SomewhereEast · 26/06/2020 18:24

I've noticed the atmosphere changing even in our town over the past week. We're getting really big groups of teens / young people on the local common now, big enough that I think its pre-organised get togethers. There were even a few shouting abuse at some coppers (who were sat in a van parked up) yesterday. We've had little gaggles of teens hanging out for a bit & I'm not at all judgey about that once they leave places tidy, which they mostly do. But it feels like lots of young people are just done with it all now & are willing to push back. I feel a bit sorry for the police as our local force have been really good (no drones or road blocks or silly tweets about searching shopping trolleys Grin). Hoping further reopening will help a bit

Institutkarite · 26/06/2020 18:24

I'm feeling quite angry today, my son, daughter-in-law and grandsons are supposed to be visiting us here in Portugal in three weeks time. It seems likely that Portugal will not be on an air bridge status with the U.K. so they'll have to go into quarantine for 2 weeks when they return.
There has been just over 1,500 deaths from Covid19 in Portugal. There has been over 43,000 deaths in the U.K.
I think that they will cancel, I'm so disappointed but angry with the arrogance of the British Government. Who the fuck do they think they are. Canute ordering the waves to go back springs to mind.

NothingIsWrong · 26/06/2020 18:25

GIN. That's what I need. DH is out as it's Friday and he's in his mates garden.

Started about 8 weeks ago with him and one friend having a single beer over our back wall (we back onto a farm with footpaths). Last week he rolled home about 9pm and was very merry. 6 of them and two cases of beers. I'm so pleased he's having some social contact!

TheGreatWave · 26/06/2020 18:26

seaotter that made me well up.
