Love these threads for inspiration, especially when it's too hot to cook.

We're having roast peppers, red onions, courgettes, sweet potato and halloumi with cured meats and pita bread. Delicious and takes 5 mins to prep.

It's just going to be spaghetti with tuna, spinach, diced tomatoes and garlic

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/06/2020 17:37

Baked tomato risotto. Piss easy and SO tasty with salad and some of those finish-in-the-oven rolls

lazylinguist · 24/06/2020 17:38

Bbq with homemade burgers and homemade burger buns and Greek salad and then strawberries afterwards.

Ice cream.

Frownette · 24/06/2020 17:39

@TwoZeroTwoZero I have suppers like that sometimes!

PrincessSarene · 24/06/2020 17:39

Saffron and rosemary chicken with tabbouleh - minimal cooking for us!

Eminybob · 24/06/2020 17:40

Pasta Bolognese. I would have preferred a lasagne but couldn’t be arsed with the extra steps

Sparklyring · 24/06/2020 17:41

@TwoZeroTwoZero Wish we had ice cream!!

@PrincessSarene That sounds tasty, is it your own recipe?

Chicken teriyaki and sushi rice and greens.

DGRossetti · 24/06/2020 17:42

Just baked a sourdough loaf, and we'll be doing something with eggs, mayonnaise and salady shit (DW) and eggs, salad cream and fish (me). Possibly some olives and a dip of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

With a drop of red wine.

Geekster1963 · 24/06/2020 17:43

Burger and chips Grin really healthy! We are having fruit for pudding.

MulberryPeony · 24/06/2020 17:43

Chicken fajitas.

iklboo · 24/06/2020 17:43

Salmon fillet, baby new potatoes crushed with sour cream & chives and asparagus.

happypotamus · 24/06/2020 17:43

Pasta. I intended to make a vegan pesto sort of thing, but I don't know where the blade for the food processor thing that chops the herbs is, so I might just throw some tomatoes, olives, capers etc on some pasta and mix with olive oil. It's too hot and I'm too tired to think.

sparklyring I really want some halloumi. There was an article of halloumi recipes on the Guardian website today that reminded me, but, since DH turned vegan, I am the only person who eats it and it is not ok to eat the whole thing myself!

Ernieshere · 24/06/2020 17:43

@LadyMonicaBaddingham, that sounds lovely,

Is it really easy, & can I use normal rice Blush

What do I need to do?
Thank you.

happymummy12345 · 24/06/2020 17:44

No idea. Ds had tomato pasta. Dh keeps asking what i want, honestly don't feel like anything at all.

BearSoFair · 24/06/2020 17:45

Sweet chilli chicken thighs with vegetable fried rice

TwoZeroTwoZero · 24/06/2020 17:45

Grin it's far too hot to cook, I forgot to put the curry ingredients in the slow cooker and the peppers and tomatoes I bought for a stew were manky. Short of other ideas, and the money for a takeaway, ice-cream it is. My dc did have something proper for their tea though!

thatcarolebaskinbitch · 24/06/2020 17:45

Chicken which has been marinading in Nando's sauce since last night with red peppers and red onion thrown in and shoved in the oven, with chips and sweetcorn. Lazy tea tonight!

fartyface · 24/06/2020 17:46

I just made my first ever moussaka. It took ages and is not weather suitable but delicious all the same.

Marmite27 · 24/06/2020 17:46

Balti chicken, pilau rice, salad and poppadoms 👍

Waiting42021 · 24/06/2020 17:48

I marinated some chicken in yoghurt and spices this morning. Going to grill them and have chicken tikka wraps with roti instead of tortillas. Will fry up some red and yellow peppers to go with it, and I’m planning to make some yoghurt mint dip.

I’m making an effort to make more “summer friendly” meals as I’m so guilty of eating loads of stodgy casseroles and stews even in June Grin

mbosnz · 24/06/2020 17:52

Honey soy marinaded steak, saussies, five spice marinaded chicken skeweres, with 'Spanish potatoes' (new potatoes with garlic, fried in far too much butter), roasted capsicums, asparagus, corn on cob and green salad.

BBQ a go-go here! And beer, coke and wine.

40somethingJBJ · 24/06/2020 17:53

We were going to have chicken and peppers done on the bbq in pitta breads, but I’ve realised the gas bottle has run out, so I’ve ordered Chinese as I just can’t face heating the kitchen up any more!
