What is your trigger food?

As in, the one that you have NO self control when it comes to eating it.

Mine is crisps, specifically salt & vinegar but tbh most crisps will do it for me. I can't just have one packet if I have a multipack, or part of a big 'sharing my bag. I've learnt through bitter experience that if I buy them, I will eat them until they're all gone. I have no self control 😞

Nothing else has quite the same effect, in fact I could quite happily go weeks or even months without eating many other things (chocolate, biscuits, etc)

I actually just can't allow myself to buy them anymore except very occasionally as a treat as I know I can't be trusted.

What really does it for you?

@StatementKnickers I highly recommend it

chubbyhotchoc · 21/06/2020 22:14

Toast

hotstepper4 · 21/06/2020 22:18

White chocolate I could eat it by the truck load.

Also those sodding Lotus caramelised biscuits. They are like biscuit crack!

Basically, anything sweet

MrsGrindah · 21/06/2020 22:22

Fig rolls. Whole packet must be eaten fresh

Bearsbearsbears40 · 21/06/2020 22:26

I’ve recently found M&S mini whips (like walnut whips but without the walnut) - they come in a bag like the big chocolate buttons. They don’t last more than 15 minutes. I’m going to have to stop buying them and telling myself they’ll last me all week.

zeromango · 21/06/2020 22:28

Wotsits .. especially the steak ones! Jaffa cakes too. And crumpets with Lurpak and thick slices of proper cheddar

Chicchicchicchiclana · 21/06/2020 22:28

Twiglets.

TheSometimesTrainedDragon · 21/06/2020 22:31

@Makegoodchoices Same. With Wotsits. And all slightly toasted.

MarshaBradyo · 21/06/2020 22:32

Bread - the good stuff only, supermarket tosh I’m fine

I have been avoiding it whole lockdown

Zisforstripyoss · 21/06/2020 22:37

Chocolate
Breadsticks or crackers with loads of butter

PepperMooMoo · 21/06/2020 22:38

Chips 🤷🏼‍♀️

Time40 · 21/06/2020 22:39

Dark chocolate digestives.

Tunnock's teacakes.

Can't have either of them in the house.

peanutbutterandbananas · 21/06/2020 22:43

Quorn scotch eggs. So random, I know! Maybe it's the salt?! Smile

Sevo7 · 21/06/2020 22:48

Yes to lotus biscuits! I don’t think I even really like them so never think go buy them, but my god if there’s some on offer at work or at a friends I literally cannot stop eating them, to the point where I’ll be thinking you cannot have another one you look so greedy and rude, yet I literally can’t help myself Blush

Mine is also cheese, crackers and a nice relish/pickle of some type. I’ll make myself two but then keep going back for more repeatably!

cricketmum84 · 21/06/2020 22:50

Quorn picnic eggs
Hot and spicy Cheetos (I cant stop once I've opened a share bag and I will NOT share)
Cool original Doritos with spicy chilli cheese dip from Asda.

MrsAvocet · 21/06/2020 22:54

Used to be chocolate and cake but I have finally kicked the habit. I've lost 2 stone this year mainly by giving up junk. I am addicted to Diet Coke though and I don't have sufficient will power to give that up.

Clevererthanyou · 21/06/2020 22:57

Cake. I don’t buy cake anymore because I will sit down with a fork and eat an entire red velvet cake like an ordinary plate of food. Apple pies, jam tarts, snowballs, chocolate covered fudge brownies, cupcakes - all gone in one sitting. I have eaten an entire gateaux a good few times.

katmarie · 21/06/2020 22:57

Fresh baked bread, definitely. Also giant chocolate buttons. If I open the pack, I'm going to eat all of them. Same with the caramel buttons.

SuddenArborealStop · 21/06/2020 22:58

For some reason since my last pregnancy liquorice? I can't get enough but it plays havoc with my hormones and it makes me seek out other sugary food. I've just finished a bag and have vowed not to replace it until I've lost half a stone.

Geekster1963 · 21/06/2020 23:09

Lions wine gums or fruit salad sweets. Our local sweet shop sells them, I can’t resist eating loads at once.

Candyflosscookie · 21/06/2020 23:52

Also a S&V crisp demolisher, OP. And yy to the lady who said about M&S cheese twists. I find it's the same with their thai crackers too.

I find a really good pate can disappear in an evening so easily.

Cocktail sausages are like crack to me as well.

Can resist chocolate easily tho. Savoury is my kryptonite.

Poetryinaction · 22/06/2020 00:01

Sugar. As in, just spoonfuls of sugar. I don't buy junk food but there is always sugar for baking. I eat a few spoonfuls a day and feel so guilty about it.

CathyComesHome · 22/06/2020 00:04

Crisps. Can’t keep them in the house. Not bothered about sweet stuff (still have loads of Christmas chocolate left), but crisps I have no self control over.

QuestionableMouse · 22/06/2020 00:14

Chocolate. Especially Cadbury Caramel. I don't buy it now.

Cake.

Cookie dough.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 22/06/2020 00:31

Bread, and biscuits!
