What is your trigger food?

As in, the one that you have NO self control when it comes to eating it.

Mine is crisps, specifically salt & vinegar but tbh most crisps will do it for me. I can't just have one packet if I have a multipack, or part of a big 'sharing my bag. I've learnt through bitter experience that if I buy them, I will eat them until they're all gone. I have no self control 😞

Nothing else has quite the same effect, in fact I could quite happily go weeks or even months without eating many other things (chocolate, biscuits, etc)

I actually just can't allow myself to buy them anymore except very occasionally as a treat as I know I can't be trusted.

What really does it for you?

Chips and dips - salsa and soured cream in particular. I pretty much keep going until it's all gone and then feel bilious for about an hour afterwards.

AnxiousElephant77 · 21/06/2020 21:26

Cadbury's Giant Buttons. And now they do the absolutely massive bags. It's not ideal.

Lsquiggles · 21/06/2020 21:29

Ready salted pringles Grin

lucindalovescats · 21/06/2020 21:30

Sourdough bread, ditto salt and vinegar crisps

Franticbutterfly · 21/06/2020 21:34

Nutella. Can't have it in the house (although I make an exception in December).

DramaAlpaca · 21/06/2020 21:40

Kettle chips. Those big family bags. I can't have them in the house, they aren't safe.

Chottie · 21/06/2020 21:43

chocolate covered raisins

H1978 · 21/06/2020 21:44

Chocolate peanuts, can never have enough 😋

Bluewavescrashing · 21/06/2020 21:46

Slightly soft choc chip cookies, either Dominos ones or Tesco bakery ones. I could eat 10 easily.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 21/06/2020 21:47

Biscuits.I will eat the full pack..every time.Cant have them in the house.

Holothane · 21/06/2020 21:47

Prawns, anything salted caramel I’ve just ordered lots of little treats to keep in my fridge for my birthday,, they’ll arrive the week before and will be kept for birthday, scampi bag of 18 pieces also for birthday.

Plusher · 21/06/2020 21:47

Salted peanuts.
Chocolate peanuts.
Peanut butter.

I wish I had a peanut allergy. I'd be three stone lighter.

LunaNorth · 21/06/2020 21:48

Salted corn tortilla chips, the cheaper the better. Not Doritos - has to be a supermarket own brand.

Biscuits. Most kinds.

Nuts.

Chocolate peanuts.

I’m such a pig.

StatementKnickers · 21/06/2020 21:53

Cool Original Doritos. I think it's the MSG.

Fresh warm crusty white bread also a danger.

Holothane · 21/06/2020 21:54

Try the co op ones they are wonderful.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 21/06/2020 21:57

@StatementKnickers me and dh quite often have a big bag of Blue Doritos for dinner on a friday..with wine.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 21/06/2020 21:58

Millionaire’s shortbread.

WokeUpSmeltTheCoffee · 21/06/2020 21:58

Posh ice cream eg Ben & Jerrys. Can definitely eat a whole tub whilst barely noticing. I've stopped buying it.

Hate crisps though. Not tempted by them whatsoever.

StylishMummy · 21/06/2020 21:59

M&S cheese twists. Little bastards always end up falling out of the box and into my waiting mouth. Particularly if I've had red wine. They're 2 boxes for £2 so not even 'expensive treat' territory

StatementKnickers · 21/06/2020 22:02

@PrincessHoneysuckle sounds like an ideal and well-balanced dinner! Wink

HistoriaTrixie · 21/06/2020 22:02

Praline coated pecans. We have a 2.5lb jar of them in the kitchen and it's going down at a slightly alarming rate!

KVlovesWinter · 21/06/2020 22:02

Sour cream and chive pringles, so easy to eat your way through half a tube and even better with a tub of Philadelphia to dip them in

stardance · 21/06/2020 22:03

Crackers- I just keep eating and eating. Same with nice decent bread too actually- I'll stand there at the chopping board and eat slices with just butter on!

Coniferhedge · 21/06/2020 22:04

Jaffa cakes or custard creams. I can easily polish off a whole packet in one go if I don’t stop myself.

LunaNorth · 21/06/2020 22:06

Also Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut with ice-cold milk.

Always have to have a second bowl.
