Things Aldi don't sell

Greece proof/baking paper

Why don't they sell it?

It is annoying that you can't get everything in the one shop. I like to go to Lidl but can't always predict what they will and won't have. The other day they didn't have leeks. I rarely find cauliflower there. I find their potatoes go off in less than a week. They're rubbish for things like cannelini beans, chickpeas etc. Can't get beansprouts. Random stuff I guess.

concernedforthefuture · 20/06/2020 19:49

Our Lidl doesn't sell greaseproof paper either.

Angelonia · 20/06/2020 19:54

It's the main way they keep their prices low. The average Aldi stocks 2,000 products compared to 40,000 at the traditional supermarket.

@LynetteScavo

Will Turkey stick to Greece proof paper?

Haha greaseproof. Grin. I rely on spellcheck to much!

My Aldi has breadsticks several Typs of pesto, but never floss or condoms.

I read that a floss flavored condoms Blush

Free from stuff. V poor selection and I ended up going to Tesco anyway.

EvilPea · 20/06/2020 19:59

I think it really depends on the individual store.
My aldi does greaseproof, pesto, breadsticks, the bakery has just shut but they did French bread. They often have the Eco cleaning stuff as a special.

ShowOfHands · 20/06/2020 19:59

Our Aldi has a massive vegan range, does chickpea falafel, pesto, bread sticks and has a new ecological range of cleaning products appearing.

flamingochill · 20/06/2020 19:59

Ours does pesto but there's often far more red pesto left over than green.

Not seen greaseproof paper or fresh French stick

LynetteScavo · 20/06/2020 19:59

I don't mind only one type of baked bean, or whatever.

But really, we need lentils and toffoo and greaseproof paper.

Although I did get dupe Smashbox primer today, which was very exciting!

Denture cleaners! You know the little fizzing tablets you put in with the denturesGrin They are the only thing I have to go elsewhere for really. I do remember when they didnt have marmite! back then there was 2 things I had to go elsewhere forGrin

PigletJohn · 20/06/2020 20:08

Tomatoes that aren't dented and bruised.

Clearly there are differences between the stores, I buy chorizo rings regularly and they always have fajita kits, in fact a full range of Mexican food type products.
LynetteScavo · 20/06/2020 21:11

Mine always has fajita kits! Although I tend to buy wraps and the seasoning separately now.

@Whereland

Pink grapefruit juice!
We struggle to get that at sainsburys (probably a good thing as I shouldn't be taking it with my antihistamine but love it)
BikeRunSki · 20/06/2020 21:18

Aldi pesto is bulked out with potato and is nasty. Aldi do a lot of demographic profiling to make the most use of the shop space. They don’t sell anything that will have a slow turnover in a particular store.

itsbetterthanabox · 20/06/2020 21:19

Dishwasher salt. They told me they occasionally sell it as a special.
Why not sell it all the time?!

ureterr1blemuriel · 20/06/2020 21:20

Dishwasher salt or rinse aid.

Sew3stitch · 20/06/2020 21:25

Arborio risotto rice. Ours definitely sells pesto and chorizo rings.

GreyGardens88 · 20/06/2020 21:25

Lidl don't sell it either

bananamonkey · 20/06/2020 21:31

Lentils is the only regular item I can’t get (and squash that DH likes Hmm)

They’ve been out of stock for almond butter for months which is really annoying and there were a couple of months earlier this year there were no tinned beans (kidney, chickpeas etc.)

queencori · 20/06/2020 21:33

They do pesto
