And posting on their SM. Cringe or funny?

If it makes them happy then who am I to question.

Billyjoearmstrong · 20/06/2020 13:52

Ah, live and let live innit.

EloiseTheFirst · 20/06/2020 15:08

If they're doing it with their dc it's fine. If on their own. No. It's sad. And I say this as a middle aged person.

Juiceey · 20/06/2020 15:15

Live and let live! Middle Aged doesn't mean no fun.

iklboo · 20/06/2020 15:15

Should they all be in beige cardis & carpet slippers filling in Over 50s life insurance applications?

FaceOfASpink · 20/06/2020 15:15

FFS why do you even need to ask!?!?
Middle aged people need to get in the bin and definitely not be enjoying themselves or - god forbid - have a laugh anywhere ever.
Well ok maybe I'm being a bit harsh. Maybe they can be allowed to enjoy themselves slightly. In their own homes. With the curtains closed. For 10 minutes of a Wednesday tea time.
Honestly what fuckers thinking they can inflict themselves on normal people.

SuddenArborealStop · 20/06/2020 15:16

I convinced DH to do a dance with me, we soon gave up when he proved better at it than me Grin
It was something to do in the long lockdown

VettiyaIruken · 20/06/2020 15:17

It's always cringy, regardless the age. Blatant "I'm mad,me" attention seeking always is.

EmperorCovidula · 20/06/2020 15:22

Well I mean if you have tick tock then you can hardly judge.

MouseholeCat · 20/06/2020 15:24

Yeh OP, middle-aged people just need to go sit on the sofa, read the Times and knit. How dare they do things that they feel are fun?!

Just kidding of course- people should do what makes them happy, irrespective of age.

BIWI · 20/06/2020 15:29

More ageism.

What's the point of this OP @Rollergirl11?

BarbedBloom · 20/06/2020 15:39

I think it is a bit of fun, who cares? Middle aged people are allowed to dance and have fun

heartsonacake · 20/06/2020 15:47

What’s the issue here?

Anyone of any age is allowed to have fun and dance, you know. If you feel your life is over and you can’t have fun because you’re not in your twenties anymore that’s your own problem.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 20/06/2020 15:50

Isn't that a character in the Frank L Baum books?

Or is my age showing there, too?

Rollergirl11 · 20/06/2020 15:50

@EmperorCovidula I don’t have it. DD and DS do. But that’s irrelevant because the TikTok dances are then being posted on Instagram, which I do have.

@BIWI I was just trying to gauge how they are perceived, thassall.

What activities are middle aged people permitted to undertake?

EmperorCovidula · 20/06/2020 16:11

@Rollergirl11 well if your offspring have it that’s only one step removed surely. Honestly, if you’re the kind of person that does social media enough to notice that stuff is hypocritical to judge.

TheVanguardSix · 20/06/2020 16:13

To each their own.

Deadringer · 20/06/2020 16:15

How fucking dare they have fun, and then let other people see it, selfish old farts.

Growingboys · 20/06/2020 16:15

I saw a middle aged mum doing a Tik Tok dance with her kids and she was trying to look sexy and I felt sorry for the children.

BeautifulCrazy · 20/06/2020 16:17

Well I’m not middle aged yet, but my kids would certainly cringe if I was doing TikTok dances. 🤣

I do think it’s a bit attention seeking but i don’t say that in real life as it’s not really my business.

annabel85 · 20/06/2020 16:19

Attention seeking fuckwits. Don't care what age they are.
coffeeandgin26 · 20/06/2020 16:21

I'm approaching middle aged and I love tik toks. My 90 year old grandma loves seeing them on Facebook!

FromMarch2020 · 20/06/2020 16:31

I know a friend that does it with her 2 teenage daughters - it is a bit cringe but she enjoys it an it gives us something to giggle about.... the fish dance was funny especially when you have a older women thinking she is cool swimming around and posting it.

She really likes it and it is funny to watch so let them get on with it, no one has to watch it though

tiredanddangerous · 20/06/2020 16:56

Well it’s a bit tragic but each to their own.
