Each to their own, I enjoy watching how creative people can be. I'm not sure what middle age has to do with it?

autopilotpeach · 20/06/2020 23:17

what does op class as middle age? Hmm listen once you youngsters get older you will not feel old as others may see you, and you will still want to have fun... you will be pissed off if someone tells you to sit down.. watch this space you will know what we all mean once your older... and you will be like oh yes that was harsh... i want to go on tik tok and have fun.. not knit this bloody tea cosy

Rollergirl11 · 20/06/2020 23:20

Well I’m 46 and I’d class myself as middle-aged. I still like to have fun. Just not on TikTok. I’ll leave that to the teenagers and influencers.

I have tik tok to watch some of the videos. Some are quite good actually. Never made a video but if I did who cares and I'm 35

FedHimtoTigers1990 · 20/06/2020 23:37

I've got nothing agaunst it at any age.
My dd has it (14) i think Lockdown has attracted so many new users. I did download the app just out of sheer boredom..

The thing that seems to be kicking off is the bitching between certain people all vying to get Tiktok famous.

Some people have put an Amazon wishlist in their profile and are making their own merchandise to sell. Others think its disgusting, its highly amusing.

God, the younger generation. Worse than our parents.

sweetieno · 21/06/2020 01:27

Let them have their fun and stop being miserable about it.

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/06/2020 01:36

Tiktok has no age limit.

1066vegan · 21/06/2020 01:55

Those saying all Tik Tok is cringe haven't bothered exploring it properly.

Dd's always on there so I downloaded it to see what the fuss is about. At first my feed was full of dancing, teenagers taking the piss out of parents (in a nice way but not exactly hilarious when you're the parent rather than the teenager) and practical jokes. I found them really boring and unfunny so scrolled through quickly and now I'm shown stuff that's more interesting to me.

Pixxie7 · 21/06/2020 02:36

Why shouldn’t they?

Pieceofpurplesky · 21/06/2020 03:02

To be fair anyone over 15 just looks like an attention seeker on TikTok

Cherryghost · 21/06/2020 03:50

Don't understand the hate for Tik Tok. Some of the videos are funny and this may sound over the top to some but it's got me through lockdown.
Yes I don't like the 'challenges' but some of the videos referencing lockdown make me laugh and are very relatable.
I prefer TIk Tok than the angry rants on Facebook as it's lighthearted fun

CatandtheFiddle · 21/06/2020 08:03

Ahhhhh, OP good of you to ensure that MN maintains its fabulous record for ageism.

It's inevitable, op is too young to have any common sense or tact. It's about what I'd expect from somebody some immature.
1066vegan · 21/06/2020 12:23

For those saying Tik Tok is all cringe, it was huge numbers of teens on Tik Tok who decided to buy tickets for the Trump rally but not go, leaving him with embarrassing big empty spaces in the upper part of the auditorium.

Absolutely, me too. It has definitely got me through lockdown, even if only for its escapist value.

My boyfriend likes tiktok, I sometimes do them with him to stop him whinging, I’m a good dancer (in the indian subcontinent men dancing is pretty much expected) so then he moans that I’ve danced better than him in it 😂

The only one I liked doing was the koala challenge.
