"where are my crisps?" 😂

This is my new punishment.

I just went into the living room to find them dressed head to foot in camo. One is hostage and one hostage taker but both allowed nerf guns in this scenario apparently.

Wales - Dripford following the science, SAGE are gods in Wales, he is hanging onto their coat tails so he can blame them when Wales goes broke. Not his fault then is it.

justasking111 · 15/06/2020 12:50

Wales- best advice from medical officer, best advice from scientists Dripford says he is following, bugger the economy.

Nihiloxica · 15/06/2020 12:52
@Cattermole That's quite something coming from the Guardian, who have been The Dementor Daily for months. I've read the dear old Graun for years but I had to back away slowly towards a Times sub for the sake of my sanity.
It's Larry Elliot.

I love him. He doesn't tend to follow the editorial line.

A lot of guardinistas hate him because he's pro-Brexit.

I'm not, but Elliot makes interesting arguments in favour of it. Similar to Paul Krugman's line.

justasking111 · 15/06/2020 12:57

Wales the scientists must love Dripford he hangs onto every word they utter unlike that rogue at westminster who questions their figures, charts, opinions.

SockYarn · 15/06/2020 12:59

I'm a freelance writer. I get projects to write on everything and anything, revcently have been doing a lot about DBS checks.

Guess what drops in today? 4500 words on..... Coronavirus.

Laniakea · 15/06/2020 13:01

It's Larry Elliot.

^he's pretty much the only thing that's readable in the guardian nowadays. I'm also a remainer but I can cope with people disagreeing with me without viewing it as a personal attack or mortally wound.

rookiemere · 15/06/2020 13:05

I would eat DS crisps- such a fabulous idea - but the fussy bugger only eats ready salted, which is hardly even a flavour in my mind in the same way that vanilla ice cream is pointless. Plus I'm already straining the new forgiving elasticated waist linen trousers that I only murderously purchased online a month or so ago.
Living the lockdown dream me Grin.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 15/06/2020 13:16

Wow cattermole THE GUARDIAN!

That's progress as it's usually anti govt. this is good news

justasking111 · 15/06/2020 13:16

My friend is a freelance writer for Guardian, Telegraph, she is so happy to be stuck with a new baby, no writing tosh for them for a while.

SummerHouse · 15/06/2020 13:18

Oooh sock what's the brief? Is it 4500 words on "why the anti dementors are right"???

SockYarn · 15/06/2020 13:21

no brief! i kind of know the client well and what she expects so it's going to be very factual and non-dementory.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 15/06/2020 13:25

I asked my DPD guy (lovely and gorgeous dundonian) if he wanted me to stop ordering. He said absolutely not, the roads were empty and he was raking it in.

Ooh 4500 word rant?

TheGreatWave · 15/06/2020 13:25

blackberry I just looked at my local paper FB page (possibly the same one) Oh my, it makes MN seem like a sea of tranquility in comparison.

MorrisZapp · 15/06/2020 13:27

How come you get a gorgeous DPD guy? This is unfair. Mine looks like Les Dennis.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 15/06/2020 13:28

North wales here. Got a 14 page document from the head about safety. Most of it all govt guidance so I have sympathy. His hands are tied.

But then I saw this: we expect all families in our community to abide by the govt guidelines on social distancing. If any family is observed not obeying these, their child will not be able to return to school.

'Observed'

Ie grass up your neighbours.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 15/06/2020 13:30

He is seriously gorgeous- and cuddles the non socially-distancing dog. I very much appreciate too the 4 hours notice I get to run a rake through my hair before answering the door with a flourish.

justasking111 · 15/06/2020 13:30

Our local FB page a plaid cymru nut is splashing across any group he can find that our towns should be pedestrianised no cars allowed in, tourists can walk park and ride to see our wonderful attractions, socially distanced of course. Um well where will they park will the council place a compulsory purchase order on spare land to achieve this.

SummerHouse · 15/06/2020 13:30

Wow sock I kind of want your job but a blank page awaiting 4500 words entirely without brief is actually quite daunting. But exciting!

Willow2017 · 15/06/2020 13:31

@Ibake

Currently ruminating on risk and our attitude to it. I'm a 70's kid so obviously was raised part feral. Have got 2 boys who fell out of a lot of trees growing up but eventually worked out which ones were safe. As a society we have taken away personal risk assessment and made decisions for people (I'm not arguing against HSE just think the pendulum swung too far). Anyway, the dementors, they're hysterical and just can't see reason but is it a consequence of their upbringing and the fact they aren't asked to ever judge a situation for themselves? Hope I'm not being too contentious and 'snowflake bashing' am just interested to see what you think?
This exactly. Many people on here seem horrified that kids actually go outside their houses and gardens to play😀 Life is full of risks and you can only do your best to reduce most of them, others are totally outwith your control. If you thought about it too much you would never get out of bed!

Some people have waited all their lives for this kind of power trip.

PickAChew · 15/06/2020 13:36

The biggest queue at the arnison centre, today, was for the Nike store. My new trainers can wait a few weeks, I think. I stocked up on stuff from superdrug, who have been open all along, so we're pretty chilled and did a quick reccy if the newly opened top floor of markses. Disappointed to find the loos cordoned off, apart from the disabled loo.
