Old posters you sometimes think of

I was wondering today about a few old posters that either left or I haven’t seen in ages
Riven , eatshitderek (i think that’s what the username was) and another one I can’t remember the full name ghost something who was in temp accommodation I think ?
Does anyone else ever wonder about posters they dont see anymore

OP posts:
Ragwort · 15/06/2020 20:30

Walking - what news of Riven and her DD, if you are able to share?

They were such a big part of Mumsnet at the time.

StoorieHoose · 15/06/2020 20:34

I see someone mentioned Mitmoo 😂. It was on one of her threads i received my first post deletion

SarahAndQuack · 15/06/2020 20:35

Hello @OhTheRoses! Yes, we did, didn't we? I don't know if @heartstrumpsdiamonds still posts. She was lovely.

Sparklingbrook · 15/06/2020 20:38

@ScrambledSmegs

I know I commented but is there any way we could please move on from ESD, otherwise it does look like it's a concerted effort to get the thread taken down?
I agree.
OhTheRoses · 15/06/2020 20:39

She still does. Not widely but is quiet and loved places. Shall I send her your love? I though Sarah and Quack seemed kindred. I hope you are well.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 15/06/2020 20:40

Ah, love a bit of nostalgia. There's no harm in it.

Other old names that pp have mentioned who I recognise

Slubberdegullion
Hecate
BIWI
Trinity
Baldy
Edgar
Peachy
LissieLou
Greensleeves
MorningPaper

SarahAndQuack · 15/06/2020 20:51

Yes, please do! That would be lovely. And yes, very well - hope you are too.

Larkspurandhollyhocks · 15/06/2020 20:59

Was biscuitsandbandages the poster who was rushed into hospital completely unexpectedly and was posting from her bed only to tragically die weeks/months later? That was so sad if it was the same poster, many apologies if not Sad

theconstantinoplegardener · 15/06/2020 21:00

I haven't seen BertrandRussell in ages. She used to appear regularly. I hope she's well.

OhTheRoses · 15/06/2020 21:03

Yes all good here! DS starting a PhD in Oct and DD just finished 2nd yr with yr competitor I think. She was v ill 16/17 and lost a year of school and had a gap yr but recovered now.

marfisa · 15/06/2020 21:08

I'm pretty sure Bonsoir came back last year as MariaNovella. Then someone addressed her as Bonsoir on a thread (instead of MariaNovella) and she disappeared again.

Her posts about higher ed wound me up but I was relieved that she was still around and well enough to post!

I loved MrsDevere. I don't think she was banned; as I recall, she had to leave MN for privacy reasons relating to her adopted child.

SarahAndQuack · 15/06/2020 21:13

@OhTheRoses - oh, wow! Good for your DS (though, FWIW, I suspect that's my former competitor as I move about - I'm still nowhere near a permanent job). I'm glad your DD is better. That must have been scary. I think I remember you and @hearts talking about secondary schools at that meet up ... time passes fast!

That's right - she had just had Baby R, and I always remember that her first concern when she was rushed to hospital was that she'd done a footner, and the skin was all coming off in her hospital bed.

She was a GP in RL.

Tragic for her and her family.

CathyorClaire · 15/06/2020 21:22

@MuthaClucker

Manshape was Zombie

Nope it was deemented, although I did see it used on other websites around a similar time.

Yes and likewise.
Larkspurandhollyhocks · 15/06/2020 21:23

ajandjjmum thank you Sad. Do I recall that her DH or a close friend had to eventually break the news to posters on here? I remember she'd just had a baby. I can clearly see in my mind's eye that she was concerned but not overly when she first went in, awful.

ajandjjmum · 15/06/2020 21:30

I think she was friends with another MNetter in RL, who broke the news. But over those few weeks/months we were all rooting for her. She was in the awful position of being an HCP, so knew too much! I think there was a chance she would recover, but something went badly wrong after a procedure, from memory.

Every now and then I think about her, and wonder if her DH and DC know what an impact she made on a few strangers. Smile

Chicchicchicchiclana · 15/06/2020 21:36

I feel sure I would have been aware of any "confession" from ESD. So I'm dubious about that.

ArriettyJones · 15/06/2020 21:38

It was complications from the bone marrow transplant IIRC. Not the leukaemia itself at all, which seemed so wrong, somehow. Just very bad luck.

Redhair23 · 15/06/2020 21:41

Can I send my love to Valhalla? If anyone is in touch with her, I sent her a donation for the amazing work that she did with rescue dogs. I can completely understand why she got fed up with trying to educate some owners.

LadyofTheManners · 15/06/2020 21:43

@Ernieshere

QueenMortificado
Yes! Who was the poster way back who posted Like this And like This? Was that Scottish mum?

I also like FellowshipOfFineFellows, she was hilarious on the TV threads, then she just disappeared. Was she banned? She was a blogger as well.

ScrambledSmegs · 15/06/2020 21:49

Yes, scottishmummy posted in not-quite-haikus, didn't she? I found it oddly soothing, despite the fact that she never minced her words.

Sparklingbrook · 15/06/2020 21:50

But very 'broken record' . Grin
Redhair23 · 15/06/2020 21:52

I liked scottishmummy, she cut through all the fawning and bleddy cliques.

woodhill · 15/06/2020 21:52

Poster with Rhonda in her name - was a teacher

Sparklingbrook · 15/06/2020 21:54

@Redhair23

It was like she didn't even want to be here herself at times, let alone join a 'clique' Grin Maybe she protested too much...
