I was wondering today about a few old posters that either left or I haven’t seen in ages
Riven , eatshitderek (i think that’s what the username was) and another one I can’t remember the full name ghost something who was in temp accommodation I think ?
Does anyone else ever wonder about posters they dont see anymore

Beatrice Sad

gassylady · 14/06/2020 21:02

What about Talkingpeace or variations there of who used to give amazingly sensible advice on debt management on the money matters and credit crunch boards? Got a feeling she was banned but why on earth that would be so I have no idea

MoonBabysMagicalKalimba · 14/06/2020 21:03

There used to be a user called BumSexAtTheBingo. The username always made me chuckle! Grin

mondaynoon · 14/06/2020 21:09

Does anyone remember MrsDevere? She always seemed nice.

TerrorWig · 14/06/2020 21:12

I remember the ESD hacking. I was walking to work and there was a thread about her son dying of meningitis. She was such a prolific poster, it upset me a lot.

By the time I got to read more on my break, it had become clear that someone had used her details (created a login using an uppercase I instead of lowercase L or something similar) to shitstir. She always used to use her middle initials in her screen names I think?

I liked her. Her threads always seemed a bit embellished - but for the laughs not to be malicious.

Incidentally, I remember when LeQueen changed to LaQueen but always thought I'd imagined it! Grin

ImAncient · 14/06/2020 21:16

Talkingpeace was banned I think. We were on long running threads & she kept name changing to come back AFAIR. I’ve NC a fair few times since. I’ve sort of been mentioned on here & it’s not true. Not saying anything else! I NC every couple of months or so after the hacking.

Beachcomber · 14/06/2020 21:18

Hi @nonsenceagain

I'm still around I just don't post a lot. I still read a lot of FWR threads and I miss a lot of the brilliant old posters but am really happy to read all the more recent posters arguing brilliantly for women's rights.

BanditoShipman · 14/06/2020 21:21

TheLadyEvenStar was she the one whose son was very precocious? Or she thought he was? Choosing books from the library on the Holocaust at age 4 or something Hmm

I didn’t understand the Mamazon stuff. She is definitely a real person and on my fb, I missed what she was supposed to have trolled about?

7ofNine · 14/06/2020 21:23

Talkinpeace had the loveliest kitchen! No idea why she's get banned. She was a very non-dramatic poster.

I think of Edgar often, and her son.

YgritteSnow · 14/06/2020 21:26

OMG TLES. I remember her posting about how flirty she was at the local and how much attention she got and it was all so harmless but all the women were so jelly of her, remember that? I saw her on FB. There didn't seem much to be jealous of tbh.

7ofNine · 14/06/2020 21:26

TLES had something extremely traumatic happen to her when she was a very young woman. I know she had many ishoos, but there were reasons for that, and I never posted on her threads because of that.

7ofNine · 14/06/2020 21:28

LOTM was a younger version of LeQ...

HowAboutYes · 14/06/2020 21:31

There was a post I read on here around 5 years ago, when my DD was first born. It was a parent whose little girl ,who was about 7 I think, had cancer and had been given months to live. I used to read her post in tears. I remember the last post and she said how she had told her daughter it was okay to let go and go to heaven. I still cry now when I think about it.

Ernieshere · 14/06/2020 21:34

That may have been Mrs.D.Sad

derxa · 14/06/2020 21:35

The Formidable Mrs C sounded ace. Where is she?

TheCanterburyWhales · 14/06/2020 21:38

That would have been Expat. Billy was older.

PloptheBarnOwl · 14/06/2020 21:40

My two have been mentioned, but LostJennyWren, mentioned on the last page, was a mum of a little boy who was two or three. She was diagnosed with cancer, and she was so angry that she was being taken away from him. Very likely that she died. I think about her often.

CheerfulYank was lovely. She posted on a AIBU I did when I had just joined MN and was in an absolute panic about a situation in my life - her calm words were just what I needed. Also I remember there was something she wrote about a little girl she had come across who had been neglected/ abused- can't remember properly, but her concern for this girl was obviously really genuine.

Also have loved the advice given by BikeRunSki over the years- don't think we have ever posted on the same thread, but some things of hers I have read have really stuck with me!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 14/06/2020 21:41

Moondog posted on my very first, wobbly thread on here (in 2006), and was very kind to me.

I liked FrannyandZooey and Pagwatch a lot.

When I first joined, it was pre-Moldies. It did feel a bit Mean Girls, but was also very funny.

PrincessFiorimonde · 14/06/2020 21:46

I thought Pagwatch and Hecate were lovely. Hullygully and Honeydragon were very funny. I also miss GibbonInARibbon.

Can't believe MrsDeVere was banned! She was lovely too.

I liked UsualSuspect - she always seemed to post from the heart.

I know FabbyChic wasn't everyone's cup of tea. She was pretty blunt. I seem to remember her once apologising for seeming insensitive; she said she was on the spectrum and just posted what she thought, without pausing to think whether she was being tactless.

TalcAndTurnips was very funny indeed.

A couple of names mentioned on this thread I don't miss at all, but I guess it would be a boring place if we all agreed on everything.

EveningSkies · 14/06/2020 21:53

Usualsuspects was banned from Mumsnet and is apparently back under other names.

Andante57 · 14/06/2020 21:55

Was Vicar a midwife/a nurse?

I thought she was a police officer

ShiningTor · 14/06/2020 21:57

Hulababy's daughter is slightly younger than mine.

Used to love Thomcat too.

ItsInTheShed · 14/06/2020 21:58

wasn't the devil wears prada the mn in double who kath went off to rescue......was all odd in the end

i remember bread and milk poster who was a dv victim we helped escape and set up a new life....came back with updates as starsandstripes

ItsInTheShed · 14/06/2020 21:58

*trouble!

Sparklingbrook · 14/06/2020 21:59

I liked usualsuspect on the 'no tv in the bedroom' threads. Grin
