Will there be a shortage of Marmite

Marmite is a by product of brewing. If most breweries have stopped production does that mean I have to start buying in slightly larger quantities?

I read today that there will be a shortage of Marmite for a while. A few weeks ago I bought a really big tub and am now very glad I did. I haven't started it yet, still using a jar.

I had to hunt some down for DH just to keep him away from my (far superior ) Vegemite

I have some marmite left and have opened the last bottle in my stock pile of Henderson’s Relish. (I stockpile as it’s a rare find in Suffolk).

I bought our first jar in years the other day without knowing of the imminent panic. Result.

Well, the stealth marketing worked on me, because I made sure I grabbed a jar while shopping today (considered taking several, but decided that was silly). Me and DD2 bloody love Marmite.

No Marmite in Sainsbury’s today ..... not looking good

I’ve been struggling to get ‘real’ Worcestershire sauce. Can get plenty of fake alternatives though - yuk.

Well I have succumbed and bought a big jar. Peer pressure

I succumb too and bought two jars , life without marmite on toast is just pah !

Now if Marmite and Brew dog get together that would be ace , i love there Nanny State IPA

I bought some marmite last night. Popped to the corner shop for milk and bread. There were only 3 jars of marmite left.

Do you have a recipe for marmite pasta please? Or is it just a case of adding some marmite to the cooked pasta?

TazSyd we use the Nigella recipe but adjust the amounts of Marmite as DH is obsessed with this dish.

Please everyone,tell me you don't buy Marmite - it's really expensive. Supermarkets own brand are much cheaper and exactly the same.

I disagree, I have tried Tescos and although I wouldn't say it's horrible marmite is much better imo

No, they're not exactly the same, made that mistake once, won't be making it again.

Marmite peanut butter is the food of the Gods. I eat it straight from the jar no wonder I am fat.
