Sentimental and tasteful or hideous and cringe? I can’t make up my mind!

Not to my taste, I put them in the same category as live, laugh, love signs and "inspirational" wall stickers in silver italics.

hippobump · 08/06/2020 22:36

One or two in a minimalist room = nice

Dozens on a cluttered shelf = tacky

Boopeedoop · 08/06/2020 22:38

Creepy as fuck.

MysweetAudrina · 08/06/2020 22:41

If you like them then they are nice if you don't then you may think they are tacky. Surely if you like something then you get it and if you think it is tacky then you don't. I have one it's not that make, it is a pewter one but I noticed the other day that someone or something had beheaded it so i fucked it in the bin.

sammylady37 · 08/06/2020 22:42

They’re horrible IMO

That was a strange reaction. I'd probably just have thrown it out.
Jingstohang · 08/06/2020 22:44

I hate their soulless little faces.

I always disliked them, my mum loves them. Then, a couple of years ago, I was newly seperated from my husband, with 2 dc who were 1 and 3. My oldest friend bought me one of a mum and 2 small children. I opened it, sobbed, and put it away. It was a year before I could actually have it out, but I have now and I love it. I only have that one.

Megan2018 · 08/06/2020 22:49

We have one, it was a gift and I actually like it. But wouldn’t want anymore either.

The one we have is 2 parents and a baby, bought when DD born. I guess it is quite naff but it looks nice where it is so I’m good with it Smile

Snagscardies · 08/06/2020 22:50

Jingstohang Grin that did make me laugh.

Ilovewillow · 08/06/2020 22:50

Not a fan in the slightest but my daughter bought me one as her name is Willow so I have it on a shelf and hide it by books as much as possible!

MahMahMahMahCorona · 08/06/2020 22:53

@Jingstohang That was a strange reaction. I'd probably just have thrown it out.

Genuinely just lol'd and woke up OH dozing next to me.

MittensTheSerpent · 08/06/2020 22:54

Weird faceless things! Very unsettling - like the results of art therapy by someone who has been through terrible trauma Confused

Turin · 08/06/2020 23:03

I have one- mother and infant. I bought it as a single parent of a newborn and absolutely loved. Bought another today as my child is older and it just doesn’t fit in my head! I just don’t know why though!

PorpentiaScamander · 08/06/2020 23:05

I've got one on display and a couple more in a box. They'll go up when I get more shelves. I probably wouldn't want more than 2 or 3 though.

QueenArseClangers · 08/06/2020 23:05

They have faces like Slenderman’s bastard twee offspring.

Turin · 08/06/2020 23:06

@queenarseclangers thanks for killing any joy they ever brought meGrin

TwoZeroTwoZero · 08/06/2020 23:11

If you like them, buy and display them in your house. Don't worry about whether other people like them or not as they don't have to live in your house and look at them.

EnterNight · 08/06/2020 23:28

Someone bought me the forget me not figure after my mum died. It sits by her photo and I do rather like it to be honest. Not something I’d have chosen myself but in this case it is quite sentimental to me.

I have weird taste though. There is currently an F1 tyre propped up in the living room. I assured dh it was a temporary feature a while ago....

Turin · 08/06/2020 23:37

@TwoZeroTwoZero I like one but can’t understand why I like the second after I coveted it for so long. Was hoping mumsnet could explain it. Still undecided!

My cat died recently. I like the cat one!

TwatCat · 09/06/2020 00:01

I had a few, also have the full nativity set. They had their run but they should remain in the past now.

OneJump · 09/06/2020 00:08

We have one or maybe two, given to us for our wedding. I can't decide if I like them or hate them either. I'm not big on ornaments anyway. It sits on a Billy bookcase next to a pile of books. I'm not even actually sure who gave it to us, so it's not even sentimental anymore and I've no idea where the other one is or if I've imagined we had it.

Thisismytimetoshine · 09/06/2020 00:10

Their blank faces creep me out.
