Unlikely to have cleaner for some time. How often do you...

Vacuum throughout
Deep Clean bathrooms
Changing bedding
Deep Clean hard floors
other odds and ends

Used to having a cleaner for 4 hours a week. She’d deep clean bathrooms, polish hard floors and vacuum throughout. Occasionally clean windows when needed And complete oven clean maybe 2x a year?
She was a whizz. She’s never have to tidy so focus was entirely cleaning.

In addition to what cleaner did, I would clean kitchen thoroughly every day including external cupboard doors etc , vacuum dining area daily. Clean kitchen floors maybe 3x a week on top of cleaner deep clean and change bed weekly (occasionally children’s fortnightly. I change my pillow case 2x a week).

Been furloughed and unlikely to have cleaner for at least short term. So increasing cleaning.
Interested in frequency of the above if anyone cares to share please?!

I deep clean bathroom once a week, DH gives it a wipe midweek.

We have hard floors everywhere apart from the stairs. I sweep and mop downstairs once a week, upstairs every other week, DH usually hoovers whole house midweek.

Change bedding once a week.

Clean surfaces, inc kitchen, once a week.

Have a look at Team TOMM. It does really work for us, you'll start seeing an amazing difference once you have done it for a couple of weeks.

wendz86 · 07/06/2020 18:42

I dust, hoover and mop house on one day a week . Then will do a bit of extra hoovering/mopping if needs it other days.
Bathrooms also get done once a week.

Bedding i do every 2 weeks.

I forgot - scream in horror and dismantle the fridges and freezers, not to mention the vege bins and fruit bowl, about every three to four weeks.

SerendipitySunshine · 07/06/2020 19:35

Stupid question, what does deep cleaning involve please?

Wtfdidwedo · 07/06/2020 19:37

@LunaLoveFood

We have a robot hoover that Hoover's downstairs everyday (we have a large hairy dog) and upstairs once or twice a week. I deep clean the bathrooms once a week and moo downstairs once or twice a week.
And does the mooing make a great difference? It's not a tip I've heard before.
Mojitomogul · 07/06/2020 19:42

Jesus, that's a lot of deep cleaning?? How do you have time to relax and do anything else? How dirty can things get Grin The only thing we do daily is hoover where the dog sheds. Otherwise bedding is every two weeks. Kitchen as and when - some dinners are more messy than others. And bathroom just as and when its dirty, but toilet we do wipe down daily. We don't really think about it and generally have robust immune systems.

honeylulu · 07/06/2020 19:45

Vacuum throughout- once a fortnight (H does this)
Deep Clean bathrooms - once a week (me - 2 bathrooms and downstairs toilet)
Changing bedding- once a fortnight (me and H take turns)
Deep Clean hard floors- I steam mop the kitchen and bathroom floors once a week. Wooden floors downstairs get hoovered once a fortnight by H, mopped maybe once every 6 months with special wood cleaner. We are a shoes off household though.

Full clean of kitchen once a week (worktops cleaned down and floor swept every day) by me.
Dusting roughly once a fortnight (shared)
H does most laundry, bins and gardening. He also cleans outside of windows every six months.
The only housework we still outsource is ironing.

Clymene · 07/06/2020 19:49

Does deep cleaning hard floors mean vacuuming and washing them? Or do you mean getting on your hands and knees scrubbing, scullery maid style?

I really can't believe any home gets so dirty that the latter is necessary twice a week unless you breed gun dogs who live in your house

tilder · 07/06/2020 19:49

I don't clean that often. I also don't know what a deep clean is.

Its a very personal thing. I find with kids at home, things get dirty faster. I sweep the utility and kitchen daily, plus wipe tops. All else once a week. I'm not very efficient.

I will clean loo's more often if needed. I generally solve that by only going in the kids bathroom once a week.

Megatron · 07/06/2020 19:51

Hoover downstairs daily (we have a dog).
Upstairs weekly.
Deep clean bathrooms weekly and wipe round sink and toilets every morning.
Kitchen wiped down every day (clean as we go) and deep clean weekly. Floor mopped daily (dog, again).
Bedding weekly.

PrimeraVez · 07/06/2020 19:53

Our cleaner hasn’t been in now for a few months and it’s been a real eye opener - I never realised or appreciated before how hard she worked!

In her absence, we:

  • deep clean bathrooms once a week
  • change bedding once a week
  • dust/polish everywhere once a week inc skirting boards, door frames etc

Kitchen worktops get wiped down at the end of each day. Downstairs gets hoovered and mopped every night (we have tiled floors throughout) Upstairs gets hoovered maybe twice a week.

SimonJT · 07/06/2020 19:55

I miss my cleaner too, she facetimed our cat last week.

Hardfloors through - vacuum daily
Bedding - weekly
Bathroom - weekly with a quick daily spruce
Kitchen - cleaned after each use
Boyfriend has been dusting and that sort of stuff

Doilooklikeatourist · 07/06/2020 19:56

Really miss my cleaner ...
However
Vacuum throughout Downstairs, once a week
Deep Clean bathrooms Every 3 weeks or so , only 2 of us at home though
Changing bedding Once a week or so
Deep Clean hard floors As above , hoover once a week , the steam mop
other odds and ends Ummm , whenever the cobwebs get on my nerves

LochJessMonster · 07/06/2020 19:56

Vacuum throughout- lounge every other day due to dog, everywhere else weekly.

Deep Clean bathrooms- fortnightly it whenever it starts to look dirty
Changing bedding - fortnightly (we shower in the evening, otherwise I might do it weekly)
Deep Clean hard floors - Sweep twice a week or whenever it looks dirty, mop maybe fortnightly.

Honestly it depends on your household. Clean them when they look dirty.
Put aside an hour or two every Saturday or Sunday and strip the beds, dust, hoover, sweep, mop and empty bins.

mbosnz · 07/06/2020 19:57

She facetimed your cat?!

SimonJT · 07/06/2020 19:57

@mbosnz

She facetimed your cat?!
Yes, she sometimes arrives 15 minutes early to play with the cat. My cat is sooo pissed off to be stuck here with me.
SunshineCake · 07/06/2020 19:59

I have no real routine for most things.

Change all beds once a week and towels twice. New hand towel in the kitchen every day.

Hoover when it needs it. Sometimes consecutive days sometimes I miss a couple.

I try and clean the main bathroom once a week but that doesn't always happen for irrelevant remains.

When lockdown started I decided to get organised and I picked a room and gave it a really good clean and tidy. Not finished as we have a lot of rooms and dh is working from home in the lounge so can't do in there or the dining room atm.

Hairydilemma · 07/06/2020 20:01

wtfdidwedo Grin

Wish we could just moo (upstairs or downstairs, I’m not fussy) and it would magically clean the house.

multivac · 07/06/2020 20:06

I have no idea what 'deep cleaning hard floors' might mean.

We live in a tiny, two-up, two-down. Now I no longer have a cleaner, every Sunday I dust throughout, vacuum throughout, and clean the bathroom.

Work surfaces are kept tidy and wiped down at all times. I haven't cleaned the oven in 20 years...

Soonbechrimbo · 07/06/2020 20:09

Vacuum throughout... Carpets upstairs once a week, rugs downstairs every damn day 🙄

Deep Clean bathrooms... Once a week proper clean.. Downstairs loo gets bleach thrown in it once a day, other bathrooms get a quick Bleach of the loo and wipe of winks mid way through the week too

Changing bedding... Once a week

Deep Clean hard floors... Sweep main walk throughs once a week and mop maybe twice a week. Dining room swept after every meal and mopped every other day.

other odds and ends... As needed

Soonbechrimbo · 07/06/2020 20:09

*wipe of sinks not winks 😂😂
