Wotsits or Cheetos and chocolate for dinner.

Little Golden Books.

Scatological humour.

NowWashYourHandsPlease · 06/06/2020 17:12

@Nocti they're like Jelly Babies but not covered in icing sugar and more tangy and more delicious

@Nix2020 I've never played with Sylvanian families. Am I missing out?

I love the Haribo adverts on TV with the grown-ups all talking in childlike voices - cracks me up!

Dislocatedeyeballs · 07/06/2020 00:39

Ahh this is nice and yes love everything on here also making bubble wand out of my thumb and finger in the bath and seeing how big I can make the bubble, marmite n crisp sandwiches made with a good fist punch at the end to smash up the crisps nicely, spoonful of nuttella straight from the jar or a nuttella digestive biscuit sandwich (no bread) writing in the sand and burying my hands n feet in sand then making them scarily appear like dead zombies, drawing and writing things with fingers on blankets and fluffy dressing gowns and then wiping them clean again with a swift move of the hand, crunching leaves with boots on in winter, making pictures by folding ham in half and taking a bite, twisting apples by the stalks until they come off before eating whilst reciting alphabet and whichever letter the stalk breaks on is the first letter of my future husband. Smashing up the eggshells with spoon after boiled eggs in case the goblins steal them to sail to sea(??!!)

2007Millie · 07/06/2020 00:53

Penny sweets

Nocti · 07/06/2020 08:36

@Dislocatedeyeballs I like writing on my dressing gown too. I'd forgotten that one.

@dislocatedeyeballs I do that with egg shells but mine is so witches can't sail to sea

Spidey66 · 07/06/2020 09:20

I love adult colouring books.

mudskippa · 07/06/2020 09:56

This is the most glorious thread ever!

Hula-hooping (I have a purple one)
Drawing on steamed-up windows or in condensation
Watching old Children's TV on YouTube
Skipping instead of walking
Glittery things
Going on the swings (and trying to get my feet parallel to the top bar)
Flavoured/smelly lip gloss (in stupidly tiny pots if possible)
Dancing around my room
Reading kids' books
Choosing form over function (I will pick a pink-handled can opener over a good one.)
The waltzers (and leaning strategically).
I still draw in greeting cards (balloons, smiley faces)

Um, I'm not sure I actually ever grew up...

AssangesCat · 07/06/2020 10:10

Water parks/slides. We were day visitors to a full on Centerpark while staying in a basic one in the Netherlands and it might be the best day of my life. It might have helped that we had two families of kids with us and there delight kind of squared ours.

Going whoosh on my bike.

Lego video games of movies, like Lego Star Wars etc.

Any location that could pass for Endor. DS's laser tag birthday party in the woods on a crisp sunny winter day I was living my best Princess Leia life

AssangesCat · 07/06/2020 10:11

Their delight.

Also pony books.

AdaColeman · 07/06/2020 10:24

Oh I do the bashing egg shells so witches can’t sail to sea in them. I thought it was only me, a one woman campaign to protect the safety of the Seven Seas! Grin

Mypathtriedtokillme · 07/06/2020 10:40

My DD has an Octocompass toy that Kawzi says “it was Dark and scary” all by its self.
Never during the day but somehow always at night randomly.
Hearing DH’s squeak of shock and unexpected fear when he has snuck to the loo in the dark and it goes off amuses me no end.

Dislocatedeyeballs · 07/06/2020 13:09

Lol glad I'm not alone! The 7 seas MUST be protected from witches n goblins! Forgot about writing on steamy windows love that too!

Giggorata · 07/06/2020 13:23

A lot of what's been said. But also and very importantly:
Jelly!

Nocti · 07/06/2020 13:59

@mudskippa Completely agree with watching kids' tv on YouTube. That's where I get my Rosie and Jim fix.

OP posts:
mudskippa · 07/06/2020 14:31

@Nocti. I was about to write "I'm a little old for Rosie and Jim." and then I realised how silly that sounds on this thread when I'm 39 and still take great delight in bouncy castles. What I meant to say was I think am a slightly older generation. Rosie and Jim started when I was about 10.

YouTube is a great place for old Kids TV. I usually start with The Flumps, then get a good old binge going with King Rollo, Mr Benn, and Towser.

Dougalthesyrianhamster · 07/06/2020 14:37

Pop Tarts

Nocti · 07/06/2020 14:43

@mudskippa I was three when it started. It was my happy telly Grin

I love watching Rainbow on you tube.Zippy and George just totally crack me up.Showed my 18yr old daughter what our kids tv was like, she thought Rod,Jane and Freddy were on something!

I feel actual excitement when I see glitter ,especially red, green, silver and gold in those little see through plastic tubes. It always reminds me of making Christmas cards at school. As soon as the glitter came out it meant Christmas was not too far away.

Pepperwand · 07/06/2020 16:34

Dairylea dunkers
Mini cheddars
Heinz cream of tomato soup with cheese on toast reminds me of being a child.
Those pink and blue fizzy bubblegum bottles
Soft play centres, particularly jumping over those big cylindrical rollers or going down the giant slide.
Being barefoot on grass

justforthecake · 07/06/2020 16:51

Farts in this house- louder the better.
My OAP mum farted in the kitchen the other night after we'd gone to bed, my DH rang the house phone to say 'we heard that'.
Much childish giggling from all adults concerned!

Nocti · 07/06/2020 17:53

Farting seems particularly popular Grin
