Good Desert Island Discs Episodes?

I adore Desert Island Discs and have listened to many, but of course not the whole back catalogue. Am now going back and trying to pick out some from years gone by - so any ones that you have particularly enjoyed - especially not from your typical “high profile” interviewee (as these are the ones I’m most likely to miss).

Another vote for Nigel Owens.

Listened to John Cooper Clarke’s today and loved it. Very interesting guy, very candid and down to earth with excellent musical choices.

I love Desert Island discs..I did love David Nott, Phillip Treacy I found moving and funny especially as I knew almost nothing about him beforehand.
My favourite was Dustin Hoffman who was just as you would imagine him to be.

Jimmy Carr was a great one. Always thought he was a bit of an arse but he's actually not!

Floella this week was great. So positive. "Childhood lasts a lifetime."

Bob Monkhouse and Kenneth Williams are really interesting. Bob's mum sounds completely batty - she turned up to his wedding dressed in black and didn't speak to him again because she didn't want him to get married!

Just listened to the Floella Benjamin one on way to work. What an amazing woman. She will always be my playschool lady
