He is an idiot and will inflame the situation, not to mention a coward hiding in his bunker.

Topseyt · 02/06/2020 03:27

Trump is fuelling the fire. He's a total arsewipe.

DioneTheDiabolist · 02/06/2020 03:39

America needs to change.

Will he be this hardline with China? The people of Hong Kong need protecting from the police.

chomalungma · 02/06/2020 04:10

Apparently he's ok with people protesting in Hong Kong but wants to use the military on US protestors

Go figure

RJnomore1 · 02/06/2020 04:26

I’m just watching this on the news. God help america, he’s destroying the country.

midwestsummer · 02/06/2020 05:01

Trump is talking but that doesn't mean it will happen.
The governors don't want the military or they would have asked for them.
Those that are using the NG are doing so with care.
Trump doesn't have the power he thinks he does as per usual.

GimmeAy · 02/06/2020 05:14

Just watching footage of him on a photoshoot holding up a bible lol.

He's presiding over a lawless society right now.

FourPlasticRings · 02/06/2020 05:23

Oh, jeez. Martial law doesn't seem like a great idea in a country where so many citizens own their own guns.

AlternativePerspective · 02/06/2020 05:40

This is just the beginning... Rioting at a time not long before the US go to the poles.

If he gets in power there will likely be more riots.

If he doesn’t, he will incite more riots....

I thought COVID was a risk to the stability of the country, in fact I predicted a civil war a couple of months ago.

Now I genuinely think it’s only a matter of time.

People say trump doesn’t have the power. But he does. Just look at the handling of COVID and the protests over lockdown.

Look at the Mexico wall. The fact the US has withdrawn funding to the WHO.

The US has long needed to change. I grew up in South Africa just before apartheid was abolished, and IMO the only difference between SA and the US is that in SA apartheid was part of the constitution hence why countries stood against it.

But in the US it’s societal and because it’s not law just understanding it’s widely overlooked.

lubeybooby · 02/06/2020 05:48

I really hope all this leads to change, real change, and soon

e1y1 · 02/06/2020 05:56

It really needs to change, I feel so sorry for them.

I couldn't imagine anything worse than being American.

FromEden · 02/06/2020 05:59

Apparently he's ok with people protesting in Hong Kong but wants to use the military on US protestors

He wants to stop the rampant looting and destruction, not the peaceful protestors. And he has said that IF its not brought under control then he will send in the military. No doubt just more empty threats from him. Nor a trumo supporter but something needs to be done to stop the riots and looting though. Not sure if youve seen it but many cities are burning. that's ok with you? It shouldn't be

FromEden · 02/06/2020 06:00

*not a trump supporter that should say

FromEden · 02/06/2020 06:03

And just to say, the protests have remained largely peaceful in many cities, including my own thankfully. I fully agree with the protests. Mass riots, looting and setting fires not so much. It needs to be stopped.

EmperorCovidula · 02/06/2020 06:10

Well the police can’t seem to deal with this. I’m not sure what else you’re supposed to do when people are behaving this way, it’s really not comparable to Hong Kong. They need get this under control and then they need to sort themselves out immediately. In particular they need to reform their policing with automatic disqualification for officers who are known to hold racist views and consequences for higher ups who allow systematic racism within their ranks and they also really need to limit private gun ownership. It’s getting ridiculous now.

Newjez · 02/06/2020 06:12

So, if this is the USA after trump's made it great, what the hell will it look like when things have gone pear shaped?

MrsTidyHouse · 02/06/2020 06:20

In his speech, before walking over to the hurch, he said he was doing to protect....."your second amendment rights".

Is this a thinly veiled hint to private citizens to shoot looters, rioters?

FromEden · 02/06/2020 06:29

Where have you been? This is the USA every few years. I hope this time is actually a catalyst for a real effort to change.

DemolitionCrew · 02/06/2020 06:30

It’s a perfect storm - pandemic, 40 million unemployed, a militarised police force, systemic racism being stoked and fanned by a lunatic dictator of a president after the brutal murder of a black man by a police officer. It’s absolutely petrifying.

BovaryX · 02/06/2020 06:33

@e1y1

Really? Well that demonstrates either a paucity of imagination. Or a profound lack of global knowledge.

JudyCoolibar · 02/06/2020 06:46

There can't be many US presidents who have declared war on their own people.

Toilenstripes · 02/06/2020 06:55

Let me guess, you’re the quintessential English rose, racked with anxiety for having to cancel her summer ‘hols’ in Spain and Cornwall.

Have a nice cuppa and then do one.

DemolitionCrew · 02/06/2020 07:02

I couldn’t imagine anything worse than making sweeping statements deriding or pitying (not sure which was your intention) an entire continent.
