Tipping over the edge, need a non corona virus related distraction. Going slowly and silently bonkers.
Thank you

£3.99 for delivery. As soon as I ordered I got a notification that if I placed another order straight away then I could have free delivery. Buggers.

floppyhare · 26/05/2020 16:41

I'd wear out that out of the house if I had the figure for it

Sparklingbrook · 26/05/2020 16:52

I think it's probably meant for someone younger than me, and I am not as slim as the model.Probably look very different on.

steppemum · 26/05/2020 17:10

well, I have spent far too much time googling chickens for sale.

(we do have a run with 3 in, used to be more)

So today we went and collected 3 new chickens.

very cute
not going to post picture, as I have posted all over sm, so it would out me

PerpendicularVincent · 26/05/2020 17:31

Dogsmother what is a water flosser? I'm intrigued!

Icedlatte · 26/05/2020 17:55

Ooh I've got a fabulous YouTube channel for taking your mind off things!
Mark Rober Is a scientist who used to work at NASA. He now makes 12 YouTube videos a year, only 12 so that he has time to really prepare for each one.
They are all brilliant, light-hearted, entertaining, clever and totally absorbing.
As he's stuck at home, he has spent wayyyyy too much time building an assault course for the squirrels in his back garden, to see if they can figure out the challenges to win the eventual prize of a mountain of walnuts

And if you like that I thoroughly recommend binge watching his other videos

Sparklingbrook · 26/05/2020 19:28

Here's the waterflosser I have, it a jetwash for your teeth basically.

Perpendicular so sorry, the mention of the rectal thermometer obviously confused me. Others on here have now given advice on the water flosser so I will give it another go but preparing to be soaked again 😂

Timetospare · 26/05/2020 21:16

Thanks to everyone that has posted, I’ve spent the day in a beautiful green space so feeling slightly less bonkers before I return to work tomorrow.
There are lots of lovely distractions to look at, and not sure where to begin, and it seems a bit mean to just pick one, like picking ‘ my favourite child’ ( they know who they are) but I will explore them all, and any lurkers here, please share anything that helps.

That Mark Rober video is awesome! I will be watching the rest of them as soon as I can.

CormoranStrike · 27/05/2020 09:01

Here’s a photo of a rabbit I sewed and made an outfit for, Hope it is distracting.

Hope you feel better soon too.

People dancing on their tip toes whilst studiously ignoring each other?

Reminds me of the Blue Orchid in Croydon c.1989...

autumnboys · 27/05/2020 09:34

We have one huge hornet, (or we have loads but they’re operating a strict rota system,) that comes and bumps up against my bedroom window. Is it friendly? Is it lonely? Or is it vengeful and hungry? Hard to tell through the glass.

SisyphusDad · 27/05/2020 10:11

@Icedlatte

Damn You Angry. I'm supposed to be working!

Laundrywoman · 27/05/2020 10:47

Those mesmerising dancers tiptoeing round so sloooowly while the music tempo is going at 150mph is so weird Grin

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 27/05/2020 11:01

The highlight of the week was having pest control out.

We're getting our first puppy on Saturday and DS doesn't know. We've had to have a very careful operation of sneaking things/amazon parcels into the house and into a cupboard we hope he'll never go into...

WhySeaEmm · 27/05/2020 11:18

Here he is!

I strongly suggest working your way through Mumsnet Classics. My particular favourite is

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_classics/3630279-To-think-I-might-actually-die-trying-to-sort-out-DMs-iPhone

I can't find it, but the one where a dog had eaten a kilo bag of sugar and the results was pretty good as well.

@RunningAwaywiththeCircus Try this

CoraPirbright · 27/05/2020 17:15

Do you have access to Amazon prime? If so, I can highly recommend Vikings. Terribly distracting although you will want to bulk buy horn tankards and wear fur a lot afterwards.

TheDogsMother · 28/05/2020 15:56

The Mumsnet classic about teaching DM about an iPhone is pure gold. I am crying with laughter here 😂
