Paris, Disney, Prague, Tenerife, Ireland, Greek Islands, Glamping & Centre Parcs trips all cancelled!!! Basically everything we have been saving up for and looking forward to is cancelled. Luckily we got refunds where it was owed and hopefully next year will be better. We came to the U.K. as expats with the intention to tour Europe whenever we had the chance so I'm really regretting our move now. We will be going back to N. America for the summer mid-June so at least we have that to look forward to.

Managed a trip to Mexico in January but should be in Thailand now which I have managed to move to April next year - same holiday/flights etc - at no extra cost. 😁

Have another Far East trip booked for November. Keeping everything crossed that goes ahead. 🤞

Glad i got to spend Christmas in New York before all the madness happened.
Hen party in Poland in April cancelled.
Was planning Bali in October but will hopefully get there next year instead...

We were in the process of deciding where to go but hadn’t booked so will save the money for next year. We’re hoping to go to Scotland later in the year though. Either fly or drive, not fussy. I guess it’s dependant on whether the plane service is back on.

Hadn't booked anything as we had DD1 in January and we're buying a house this year so we thought we'd see how things went and try to book last minute before all this happened. Now, am hoping we might get a couple of UK long weekends in the autumn if things have improved enough by then.

French Alps in April, cancelled. Short break in Cheltenham mid-May, cancelled. Trip to Guernsey for family do, end of May, cancelled. 3-week trip to Scotland and Derbyshire in July, some of it may happen, don't know yet. Short hotel break with Shearings in Devon, end of July, cancelled, they've gone bust. Greek islands in September, quite sure that won't happen, we hadn't actually booked it. I'm very much hoping to have some kind of UK holiday this year, I missed out on a lot last year because of illness.

Oh yes, and Norfolk for my DN's wedding in August, postponed for a year Sad

didireallysaythat · 24/05/2020 21:45

Wow. I clearly need to aim higher in the holiday stakes. I'm so jealous of all the time for holidays!

vinoandbrie · 24/05/2020 21:46

We were due to have our main holiday at Easter, long haul. Cancelled, got back most but down about £1,300.

Due to go to the Lakes in early July for a week. No idea if this will go ahead. Have only paid £230 deposit so far.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 24/05/2020 21:50

We were hoping to go to northern Italy, the Bologna - Rimini region, for at least a week maybe two (depending on what our teenagers would be doing post exams).

Luckily, we had nothing booked.

We won't be going anywhere now, not even a few days in the tent - got no money for a holiday!

Epigram · 24/05/2020 21:52

Easter holiday in France - cancelled.
Half term in Norfolk - cancelled.
We hadn't booked anything for the summer.

FenellasFinger · 24/05/2020 21:53

Moved to next year here too.

iknowimcoming · 24/05/2020 21:54

I should be in Monaco tonight having a lovely dinner and drinks after watching the Grand Prix today from a yacht - sob! Should be going on a once in a lifetime safari holiday in August which at the moment our only option is to reschedule to next year when truthfully we probably won't be able to afford it as husband business will be badly affected, bloody rubbish but we are all healthy so ......

AnneKipanki · 24/05/2020 22:03

What a question!
Of course they have.
Had 3 trips organised. First one did not happen. The next 2 are very unlikely to happen.

Ghostlyglow · 24/05/2020 23:25

Just cancelled. Gutted.

strugglingwithdeciding · 24/05/2020 23:53

We cancelled our Spain holiday due mid July and lost deposit as was due to pay the rest and isn't want to pay out thousands
Could of risked it and if they cancelled got it lol back , but if in slight chance we are allowed to fly but holiday would be all social distancing , half places shut , no issues if pool etc then we decided don't want to go as not a holiday
Im actually annoyed that holidays between Europe haven't been discussed and cancelled so people could get money back , jet 2 wouldn't let us move it to next July only as far as June and I have year 10 sitting exams so not practical
But we have booked to go elsewhere further afield with the money we saved this year and the money we would of spent having holiday next year to somewhere further afield as a once in lifetime - if all ok
With tui and we don't have to pay final balance until 4 weeks before so would have better idea if all safe to travel etc
