For some reason I will not try banana fritters.
Just the idea of eating them makes me go gaaaaaaah 😣

Tripe and black pudding.

Can see they're common on here so at least I'm not alone.

DH loves black pudding and got me to try some once except I got as far as it touching my mouth and I had to spit it out cos I just couldn't go through with it Blush

Giggorata · 22/05/2020 09:10

Tripe and tapioca. (Together or separately)

littlemeitslyn · 22/05/2020 09:10

Oysters
Tripe
Kidney
Dog food

Fleamaker123 · 22/05/2020 09:10

Stilton it smells of sick
Eels too snake-like

Pipandmum · 22/05/2020 09:11

Trifle. Oh the thought of it makes me gag. I think it's the combination of textures and it being cold. Yuck.

CockCarousel · 22/05/2020 09:17

All offal and most seafood. Frogs legs and snails. Lamb.

I did try squished greenfly the other day though. Won't do that again.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 22/05/2020 09:18

PatrickRum's list is full of my favourite foods, to the non-eel triers, smoked eel is lovely. I'll give everything a go, I love trying new foods.

However, I could not countenance biting into a green apple. I'd probably faint.

Kittenlicker · 22/05/2020 09:18

Meat. Jellied eels. Anything that has jelly/aspic stuff round it. That’s f*cking rank.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 22/05/2020 09:23

Ohh, I like jellied stuff Kitten, I make a tail and tongue terrine with oxtail and tongue that's cooked with pig's trotters, you fish out all the meat and aromatics, add a bottle of red wine and reduce it, chop and shred your meat, put it in a mould with the reduced liquor and set in the fridge. Very nice with sourdough, cornichons and mustard.

Katinski · 22/05/2020 09:23

I'd love to hear(read?) from all you tripe haters here, just how it was cooked?Confused
The only food I've actually spat out into my napkin has been haggis. Possibly something going on there with the spicing?Dunno.Just that my tastebuds were telling me that swallowing this would be a bad thing.

eaglejulesk · 22/05/2020 09:26

Offal of any kind

LeoTimmyandVi · 22/05/2020 09:29

Weetabix - I couldn’t eat it I’d it was the only thing on earth left to eat!

AltheaVestr1t · 22/05/2020 09:30

Anything milky, white and curdy - cottage cheese, rice pudding, porridge. Urgh.

EnglishRain · 22/05/2020 09:52

Black pudding

EnglishRain · 22/05/2020 09:53

And haggis!

mrswhiplington · 22/05/2020 09:55

Cottage cheese

CharDeeMacDennis · 22/05/2020 09:58

Loads. Most fruits. Anything squishy, blobby, gelatinous or that has seeds in. Tomatoes are a good example. I'm fine with passata and tomato puree, use them a lot, but actual tomatoes, nope.

Bananas.

Yoghurt. Anything cold and goopy has no appeal whatsoever for me.

It's not a taste things, it's textures that make me shudder. I like lots of commonly disliked foods, like sardines, anchovies, olives, love them.

Ginfordinner · 22/05/2020 09:59

Snails. I dislike cockles and whelks, which apparently have the same texture.
I tried a cooked oyster on holiday once, and really disliked the taste, so I shan't try raw oysters.

I have tried tripe and disliked it.

I like most foods mentioned upthread though.

Gorganzolabrie · 22/05/2020 10:01

Beetroot and salad cream.

Imgladimnotyourchild · 22/05/2020 10:07

Crab Sticks

DulciUke · 22/05/2020 10:19

Flaked coconut and most nuts. It's a texture thing. I actually like the flavor of coconut, but anything with flakes makes me heave.

percheron67 · 22/05/2020 10:22

Tripe. Brains.

TheVanguardSix · 22/05/2020 10:23

brie
smelly cheeses (the veiny ones- gross! Why eat food that tastes like the stomach flu?)
snails
frog legs
insects
dried fish heads and peanuts (this was a common snack on trains when I was in Japan in the 90s)
black pudding
offal
tripe
head cheese

Right. Off to puke in the toilet now.

BearSoFair · 22/05/2020 10:23

Oysters
Jellied eels
Tripe
Quorn - after seeing how violently ill it made both SIL and BIL!

FthisS · 22/05/2020 10:24

Jackfruit I'm vegan and everyone raves about it but I can't bring myself to try it.
