What is the most unusual or strangest thing you have had in a sandwich?
Did you like it ?

Mine was custard , cream , and fruit cocktail. I liked it . It was very refreshing and more than a trifle filling .Grin

A brown sauce butty.
A sugar butty.

IncrediblySadToo · 22/05/2020 12:17

I'm amazed that was a bought sandwich!

I'm low carb these days, so sandwiches no more 😢

There's not much that's not Improved by whacking it between some nice bread, but I can't think of anything massively 'strange' as it's all 'normal' to me 🤣

JackiFazaki · 22/05/2020 12:17

Oh, and when I cross the border, a Wigan kebab.Wink

AnneKipanki · 22/05/2020 12:21

onesmalldog · 22/05/2020 12:29

white bread spread with Stork margarine and filled with granulated sugar.

HeyHeyWhatever · 22/05/2020 12:38

Chocolate spread and wotsits. Yum.

Permanantlypuzzled · 22/05/2020 12:43

Beautyoftheirdreams · 22/05/2020 12:47

Shepherds pie in a sandwich or Lasagne or Bolognese. So nice

molifly14 · 22/05/2020 12:48

Sausages and hummus!

JackiFazaki · 22/05/2020 12:53

@AnneKipanki
A Wigan Kebab is a local rugby team invention of pies on a stick. A bit of a lark based on Wigan being famous for pies. Some people locally enjoying a sandwich with a pie filling or a barm cake with a pie filling.

I've a yearning for the kipper and red cabbage combo upthread Grin

stellabelle · 22/05/2020 12:57

Sliced tomatoes and hot mashed potato. Yum.

Bluntness100 · 22/05/2020 12:58

A mutton pie. In Scotland a pie sandwich is actually a thing...

TwentyViginti · 22/05/2020 12:59

AnneKipanki wow! what a find!

strawbmilk · 22/05/2020 14:24

Chicken, grapes and mayo 🤢

YouAreTheEggManIAmTheWalrus · 22/05/2020 14:33

Think my all time favourite is fish finger and brown sauce, but definitely partial to a shepherds pie or curry and lime pickle butty.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 22/05/2020 21:59

I went to uni with a lad who used to soak cornflakes in milk so they went soggy then put them in a sandwich with peanut butter and ketchup.

amusedbush · 22/05/2020 22:09

As a teenager I went through a phase of cheese, mayonnaise and spring onion sandwiches, which I suppose is a just weird variation of cheese savoury.

My granny made me leave the room to eat it, she said just watching me gave her heartburn Grin

PaperMonster · 22/05/2020 22:10

I’m a low carber, so no sandwiches for me nowadays really. But I used to love stuffing on a white bread with butter butty. My mum, who really should be a low carber, loves cold potato in a butty.

Lozza70 · 22/05/2020 22:12

Date and apple, in thickly buttered white bread. Again from Norn Iron! When dates used to be sold in the shop in a wee rectangular block so you could slice it...

destinasia · 22/05/2020 22:13

Well I did used to think my cheese, apple, sultanas and salad cream was odd...

Davros · 22/05/2020 22:19

DH's favourite is banana and Branston pickle

Flymetothetoon · 22/05/2020 22:30

As a kid I would have:
Tomato sauce sandwich
Salad cream sandwich
Just butter sandwich
Bacon dip sandwich (basically dipping bread in frying pan after Dad had made his morning fry up
Crisp sandwich
As an adult
Fishfinger and marmalade sandwich
