Morning all, well the cafe thread is just about full so here's the new thread.

Just a reminder Florence has made pastries over night, the garden is open with the sensory garden, the cat area (with catnip bush) is available and feel free to cool your feet int the water feature.

Morning all!
Can I have some crumpets for breakfast please? What’s everyone up to today?

Frownette · 21/07/2020 07:43

Morning Pink. Crumpets sound good.

Just work and sorting out a birthday present today.

Blasted washing machine broke twice yesterday, first time I took out sodden clothes but then after people had been round to 'fix' it when it went a second time I've left everything in there.

My face masks are in the wash so I'll have to experiment with a scarf as I need to catch a bus later and you're not allowed on without face covering.

What are you up to?

Frownette · 21/07/2020 07:44

I wish I'd hand washed the face masks, they'd be dry by now Sad

sashh · 21/07/2020 08:38

Morning all!

Oh god @Frownette that sounds painful. Is that in the new place? 🙈

@sashh congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 A pass is all you need so no being down on yourself! Plus maths is hard so fair play!!

I shall have Florence whip you up a celebratory cake, what flavour would you like?

Frownette · 21/07/2020 10:50

Yep @NoGravyForYou, going to wash my face then wrap it in my scarf. Hope washing machine gets fixed today and liberates my clothes.

How's things with you?

NoGravyForYou · 21/07/2020 12:27

The machine is holding your clothes captive 🙈😂

I'm good thanks. Had a guy from online dating mess me around a bit but put him straight last night. I don't have the time for people who are mind fucks anymore. I'm feeling good about myself, have lost lots of weight ( a positive from the break up) and have been enjoying buying new clothes for myself in the size smaller than I was before!

Are you all settled into the new place?

Nobody has fixed it, I've just got back...

I'll text landlord. I need my stuff, preferably clean.

Good grief you're back in the saddle pronto! Just enjoy it and good that you won't tolerate any bullshit.

Getting settled, earlier I thought "I want to go home" so obviously I feel more oriented.

NoGravyForYou · 21/07/2020 22:28

Oh god @Frownette how bloody annoying!! I'm glad you're settling in well.

Yeah I figured I'd just get out there and have a bit of fun and see what happened 🤷🏻‍♀️ making it very clear that I'm not looking for anything serious at all.

Frownette · 22/07/2020 08:01

Omelettes this morning maybe? I was going to have a mushroom, cheese and herb omelette with fresh bread roll and tomato salad

Frownette · 22/07/2020 08:01

Just need to go to supermarket

sashh · 22/07/2020 08:13

Morning all.

Well today is an exciting one for me, I'm leaving the house for the third time since March and I'm getting my nails done.

I also seem to have discovered a 'Lockdown weight loss' process. It consists of using the internet in the morning while eating chocolates or biscuits or other snacks.

Skip lunch but continue to snack.

watch TV with alcohol.

I've lost 2.5 Kg.

@NoGravyForYou A chocolate gateaux is perfect.

I watched the film 22 July yesterday, not a happy film but I think today we should have a trip to Scandanavia.

So, Swedish pancakes, chilled blueberry soup, Rye bread, poitato bread, various pickles, tomatoes and cucumber slices.

Morning all!

Oh enjoy getting your nails done @sashh !
I'll get Florence onto that chocolate cake and it's should be all sorted by mid afternoon tea and cake time.

What are Swedish pancakes when they're at home? I'll definitely give the chilled blueberry soup a go though.

Hope your clothes will be liberated soon @Frownette

How is everyone else?

NoGravyForYou · 22/07/2020 17:21

Slightly late, but here I am with the cake thanks to Florence!!

Well done on your college results @sashh, we are all very proud of you!

Who would like a slice?

Frownette · 22/07/2020 17:37

@NoGravyForYou got clothes out but washing machine has gone to washing machine heaven so I have 2 bags of wet clothes until tomorrow morning when it's replaced. Managed to get hold of my face masks and had to hand wash them.

Enjoy your celebratory cake sashh :)

NoGravyForYou · 22/07/2020 18:08

I managed to break a dishwasher today @Frownette so everyone else on this thread should stay away from white goods for the next while 😅

Frownette · 22/07/2020 18:47

@NoGravyForYou we're cursed... Shock

sashh · 23/07/2020 07:01

Morning all.

My nails are now purple glitter.

The lady who does my nails has a dog, last time I saw him he was half the size he was yesterday. He really is a cutie but I couldn't keep playing ball with him while getting my nails done so he sat with the ball in his mouth looking sad at me.

He's been missing the fuss from all the ladies who get their nails done. This place is like a female version of a Jamaican barber's shop, 50% beauty and 50% social life.

So on to breakfast.

I think I need to step away from anything electrical so it's going to be a cold breakfast today, and only Florence is allowed to touch the fridge (I don't think virtual people can break virtual white goods).

OK fruit, fruit juices, hams, tomatoes, cucumber, breads and rolls (cooked overnight be Florence) butter, jam, pickles.

OP posts:
Frownette · 23/07/2020 08:01

Ooh, purple glitter, nice! Must be good to be able to go there again.

Don't think that your fridge is safe from us, even if we're virtual people...

Just waiting for new washing machine, they said it would be early. Actually I'd better make IRL breakfast before the stampede begins

PinkDaydreams · 24/07/2020 06:34

Morning all! I’ll get the kettle on Grin

sashh · 24/07/2020 07:05

Morning.

Thank you @PinkDaydreams I'll have a cup of tea before I start (I'm normally a coffee maker)

Any plans for the weekend @sashh? I’ve got to get some food shopping today, interesting to see if the customers will all be wearing face masks. I’ve got to admit I feel so anxious when wearing one. I wear glasses so they get steamed up, then I feel I can’t breathe properly. I’m really not looking forward to having to wear one but I understand the reasons why we have to. I’ve never suffered with anxiety before but over the last few weeks I have been feeling so anxious regarding lockdown, it’s a horrible feeling.

sashh · 24/07/2020 07:22

Coffee drinker, I don't sit on a counter making coffee!

@PinkDaydreams

I used to work in cath labs and operating theatres. The trick is to get the mask under your glasses and close fitting round your nose, if you have the disposable masks you should find a wire across the length - bend this to fit round your nose.

Also I've noticed the masks that go around the ears don't fit properly around the nose, if you can get the surgical masks that tie they are much better - tie the top around the back of your head and then the others quite loosely.

You could also use a scarf instead of a mask, again wrap it over your nose and cross over at the back then put your glasses on with the mask under the glasses - I also used to ride motorbikes.

My weekend will be much the same as any day, although my carer will be here tomorrow and we generally have some alcohol when he's finished.

Now on to breakfast, I think we should head for Japan so fish, miso soup and rice with a few additions.
