Best chocolate?

I love chocolate but don't eat it much - most chocolate seems to have a horrible taste now compared to what I remember and also doesn't ever seem to melt properly!

I tried Tony's Chocolonely which is really nice but I'm finding it hard to come by, any other recommendations?
I usually like dark but not fussed really

Lindt used to be ok but I find it way too much nowadays. Galaxy is still ok. Ritters is lovely but can hardly ever find it.

GlamGiraffe · 17/05/2020 00:15

I like aldi chocolate and I'm not much of a chocolate person. I far prefer it to lindt.

Looks like I need to get to Aldi doesn't it, shame there isn't one that close to me!

Lindt is still good! Just not the balls you want the bar of milk extra creamy

Sainsburys own brand bar of milk chocolate isn’t bad either

There is an independent chocolate shop near DH work, he buys me some chocolate truffles most weeks. God I’ve missed them in lockdown Sad

Don’t get why people rave about Tony’s, it really isn’t all that

AnotherEmma · 17/05/2020 15:27

The Lindor balls are horrid, so sickly. Definitely not like the Lindt chocolate by itself.

RainMustFall · 17/05/2020 15:30

I'm happy to eat any chocolate that doesn't contain palm oil. Lindt chocolate doesn't but their Lindor balls do.

I usually stick with Green and Blacks or Godiva.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 17/05/2020 18:25

I have remembered another chocolate that I love: giandujia caffarel (?) hazelnut chocolates shaped like little triangular prisms. I can't just eat one so I daren't buy them because they're expensive!

I have a real weakness for Côte d'Or milk chocolate in bars - not the elephant praline things, but the block chocolate. I bought (and hid) 5 bars in Paris last year when DH & I went to the rugby and ate the last bit before lockdown. Seriously considering a ruinous order from a French online supermarket.
