International Space Station visible again

The International Space Station is visible again from Fri 15th for the next 10 evenings.
Tonight should be particularly good as it's for 6 minutes

Fri May 15, 10:50 PM - 6 min - rising from the SW

NASA ISS Live Stream - Earth From Space
This one is quite interesting because if 'LIVE NOW' is at the top left it's LIVE. Otherwise, as the Space Station goes into night every 45 mins, the video stream is unavailable. During this time, and other breaks in transmission, recorded footage is shown. When it's back in daylight the live stream should start again.

Let's hope for clear skies - Good Luck!

Perfect view for us tonight! Grin

ILikeSardines · 23/05/2020 23:47

Bloody hell just popped out for a cigarette and saw it again by accident!

Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket Grin

DanFmDorking · 24/05/2020 20:25

It's due twice tonight at -
Sun May 24, 10:07pm, for 6 min, rising in the W
Sun May 24, 11:43pm, for 4 min, rising in the W

Clear skies forecast for tonight - Should be a good sighting Smile

I know! I've never won a competition in my life! I'm not a lucky sort of person. It sounds like not even true to some I'm sure.

For background I have a lifelong love of sci-fi since being a kid, tattoos with space themes and a physics degree. This meant an enormous amount to me Smile (I'm not organised enough at the mo to seek it out but maybe will start)

Somanysocks · 24/05/2020 22:23

Saw it tonight, a really clear sky helps.

DanFmDorking · 24/05/2020 22:23

Just caught a glimpse of it as it was cloudy!

CherryMaple · 24/05/2020 22:25

I saw it!! Is it worth trying to spot Cygnus shortly? Thanks for this thread.

Gotthetshirt23 · 24/05/2020 22:28

@DanFmDorking thank you ! Full pass Grin

CurseryKinkajoo · 24/05/2020 22:45

Almost missed it but watched it vanish in the west tonight. DH humoured me and came out to see it. He’s a good ‘in! remembers fondly dragging him out of pubs in the past to watch the ISS Blush

I missed all the Starlink sightings a couple of weeks ago and was really disappointed. The ‘new’ app is making up for it Grin

DanFmDorking · 25/05/2020 21:15

Well done @CherryMaple, @Gotthetshirt23 and @CurseryKinkajoo
Just one opportunity tonight -
Mon May 25, 10:56pm, 5 min, rising in the W

Thank you

catzrulz · 25/05/2020 22:54

We saw it last night from Dunoon in Argyll. It was really clear, we were surprised at the speed it was going.
Too cloudy here tonight though unfortunately.

DanFmDorking · 26/05/2020 00:28

Missed it - because I was playing with the SPACEX / International Space Station docking simulator and I forgot the time.
Oh the irony!

DanFmDorking · 26/05/2020 19:48

Twice tonight but I'm not going to bother about the second one as it will be very low
Tue May 26, 10:08pm, for 6 min, rising in the W
Tue May 26, 11:45pm, for 2 min, rising in the W
Good Luck

SpaceX rocket should be visible tonight 🚀
Approx 9.45-50pm
Hopefully clear skies.

Gotthetshirt23 · 27/05/2020 20:21

Hoping to see the rocket !

TeaForTara · 27/05/2020 20:41

There are buildings and a hill obscuring my view south so I hope it's not too low in the sky. I'll be out looking.

cyclingmad · 27/05/2020 20:54

what is the position of the rocket - hearing to look right of the moon?

CurseryKinkajoo · 27/05/2020 21:19

Aw gutted, was watching the NASA live feed and they’ve just aborted due to weather Sad

When I saw a picture of the stormy sky backdrop to the rocket earlier I would have backed out if I was one of the astronauts, and was surprised it took so long to call it off 😬

catzrulz · 27/05/2020 21:22

Gutted here too, would have been great to see them both, unfortunately we have clouds so probably wouldn't have seen anything anyway.

I dunno, they’d soon pass through it Shock
