The International Space Station is visible again from Fri 15th for the next 10 evenings.
Tonight should be particularly good as it's for 6 minutes

Fri May 15, 10:50 PM - 6 min - rising from the SW

NASA ISS Live Stream - Earth From Space
This one is quite interesting because if 'LIVE NOW' is at the top left it's LIVE. Otherwise, as the Space Station goes into night every 45 mins, the video stream is unavailable. During this time, and other breaks in transmission, recorded footage is shown. When it's back in daylight the live stream should start again.

Let's hope for clear skies - Good Luck!

International Space Station visible again

Is it going to be too light tomorrow to see the SpaceX rocket? I think I saw that the launch (weather permitting) is earlier in the day.

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 30/05/2020 14:00

I expect so, it's going to be at around 8.20pm UK time so still broad daylight really.

notimagain · 30/05/2020 17:30

Yes, daylight interferes with seeing it from the on the first pass over the UK after launch but from parts of south western Europe the space just over 90 minutes after Dragon's launch the space station and then ( 5 minutes later) the "Dragon" itself will be visible at the start of Dragon's second orbit....

This website gives accurate info as to what is visible based on your observing location in:

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 30/05/2020 17:43

Can I confirm if it’s 8.32pm or 9.32pm for the launch it SpaceX? The time I saw was 8.32pm but I think that was GMT?

MyNameIsArthur · 30/05/2020 17:56

Saturday 30th May (tonight):

822pm SpaceX launch (hopefully). Watch on NASA YouTube television

1010pm ISS can be seen across the sky for 6 minutes SW to SE

1015pm if launched, the SpaceX capsule can be seen across the sky for a couple of minutes SW to SE

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 30/05/2020 18:03

Thank you!

DanFmDorking · 30/05/2020 20:55

Should be clear skies for tonight's viewings

The ISS
Sat 30 May 22:10pm, for 6mins rising in the W

Crew Dragon
Sat 30 May 22:15pm, for 3 mins rising in WSW

Good luck Smile

I saw both the ISS and Dragon - never seen ISS before - thank you!

CurseryKinkajoo · 30/05/2020 22:32

Argh! Saw the ISS tonight but didn’t realise I’d see Dragon too so came in and just found this thread so missed it Sad

TeaForTara · 30/05/2020 22:36

Saw the ISS but not the rocket. Boo!

Even drove up to high ground to give myself a better chance. Maybe I wasn’t looking at exactly the right part of the sky.

Popper56 · 30/05/2020 22:42

Oh my goodness, i saw both! I'm living my best life right now, what an age to be alive with all of this technology going on. It makes me quite tearful to see something launch live on TV and then in a few hours, see it above your head! Wow, another bucket list item ticked off!

MyNameIsArthur · 30/05/2020 23:16

Glad you got to see it Popper. The ISS was very bright and easy to spot but the Dragon was very faint so I was very lucky to spot it

TeaForTara · 30/05/2020 23:29

The sky here was still quite light so, if it was faint, maybe that’s why I didn’t spot it.

Darlingyouvegottoletmeknow · 31/05/2020 07:38

I saw both in London (with light pollution), the ISS was very bright but the Dragon was faint and harder to see - when the Dragon dot got to the part of the sky near the moon I couldn't see it due to the moon's brightness, but I kept watch and it reappeared again as it moved away from the bright area of sky. Very exciting to see, and I was very pleasantly surprised to see it with all the light pollution here.
