All these teachers having the vapours are insulting the teachers and other staff who have worked through this crisis looking after children, god knows what they think of these dementors.

ThatLibraryMiss · 13/05/2020 20:18

@Jourdain11, good to see you back.

MinesaPinot · 13/05/2020 20:20

New thread and we're on 9 pages already????

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 20:20

Jourdain “ I'm more worried about them NOT going back to school!”

That makes sense. Some children thrive in school. Others don’t. You know your D.C.

If someone’s paying for government plant posts, those posters think I’ve made a mint out of that JRM post.

Bollss · 13/05/2020 20:21

I wish we were getting paid I wouldn't have to bloody work Grin

BarkandCheese · 13/05/2020 20:33

I’d bloody love my child go to go back to school, but she’s y7 and they don’t seem to exist anymore. If I’m a government plant I’ve been playing a very long game, I’ve got many years of mostly random posting on MN. So clever of the government to know all this was going to happen years ago and plant us all here.

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 13/05/2020 20:39

Jourdain I'm not surprised you're low. I've not had chemo but have had some pretty unpleasant medical treatment and every time afterwards my mood dips badly and I sit there wondering why (I'm maybe not the brightest) Grin These things do drag you down so much. Losing your hair sucks at any time, too.

I went to a shop a couple of days ago - I really haven't the last few weeks. And it's funny how it just is a bit scary but 2 minutes into it it just feels so normal. I think it does you good. I think schools will be similar. Dementors will be saying all sorts but we'll just adjust and calm down a lot.

I love that paragraph rosettes We need that kind of calm, common sense. Thank goodness for them.

fartingsparkles · 13/05/2020 20:40

Hello all, so lovely to find you. I've stayed off many other threads and only given fb a quick flick, to avoid dementors. You are all proving saner than so many!

TheAdventuresoftheWishingChair · 13/05/2020 20:41

New thread and we're on 9 pages already

I think there are just more and more of us who have had enough.

A lovely friend said to me today 'yes well, there will be suicides if we stay in lockdown but not many.....' It makes my blood boil. And if I argue against lockdown, I'm seen as the callous one.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 13/05/2020 20:42

The other thing that is really start to get my goat is people shouting at the government to do more about care homes and how it’s murder on the governments part. Err no care homes are mainly privately owned, charging an absolute fortune every week and it is their fault they aren’t Better prepared or dealing with it better

MedSchoolRat · 13/05/2020 20:45

howdy, and it's nice to hear some people not in hysteria about The Germ Which Shall Not Be Named (GWSNBN?)

Adult DD snuck out last week a few times to meet people. Obstensibly, she "went on a cycle ride" with a little backpack and ridiculous shoes and stayed out for hours... obviously she went to meet someone(s). I believe she didn't meet anyone before last week.

I also just discovered she has an occasional smoking habit. Am unhappy about the smoking but glad she didn't get caught doing the illegal thing.

Darn you gals for posting a video of JRM where he said things I can't help but support. Another wee burden of Lockdown, I guess.

TotorosFurryBehind · 13/05/2020 20:47

Love the Guinea Pig of Sanity 😆

Bollss · 13/05/2020 20:48

Some care homes are better than others certainly. It is up to each individual care home to figure this out with government guidance but I am not sure how the government are expected to just somehow eradicate it.

I'd suggest it's no coincidence that staff in care homes are generally paid a shit wage and Corona has somehow got in. There is no sick pay in that kind of work. A lot of people can't afford two weeks off.

I am in awe of care home staff personally because they do a very hard job and they certainly don't do it for the money. I have not seen a single one moaning about their working conditions either and I assume it has not been easy for them.

DominaShantotto · 13/05/2020 20:53

With how much I've talked about my kids suffering I must be due a stinking paycheque from the Government then!

I just want the ability to be able to make my own informed risk assessments about my children's physical and mental health and wellbeing - rather than Sandra on Facebook's yelling getting that choice removed from me.

Bollss · 13/05/2020 20:55

Me too domina

TitianaTitsling · 13/05/2020 20:58

The guinea pig of sanity is antithesis to 'madness hamsters' or have l totally missed that that's why it's called that (crap day at work has turned brain to mush!) Think the hamsters must visit the dementors nightly!!

Leighhalfpennysthigh · 13/05/2020 20:58

My brother lives in the SW and there is an MP and lots of people who are trying to stop people travelling into the area. Some comments are even trying to bring back travel restrictions. Selfish bastards not to even let people visit for the bloody day. It's not like they can get a hotel room, go out for a meal or whatever. It will literally be hanging out on the beach or going for a walk. Even if, god forbid, they have a second home there.

I could see their point at the beginning, when the lockdown started and infections were increasing, but now it's pretty damn safe, the SW has barely been impacted by covid and people need fresh air and somewhere nice to visit after being trapped for weeks.

Had a look at my Facebook earlier. Full of dementors. The thing about there now being enough ICU beds is particularly annoying. Oh and the name two members of your family who you want to die. So I did. Named my brother and sister. Who then came on and named me and each other. We've now been defriended GrinGrinGrin

ThatLibraryMiss · 13/05/2020 21:00

Went to a local country park/nature reserve for a big walk this afternoon, passed a couple wearing masks. She had hers pulled down below her nose so not sure how effective she thought it was but I reckon it wasn't at all.

TinRoofRusty · 13/05/2020 21:01

Just back from terminating going for a walk and then having a takeaway. How are all of you homicidal maniacs?

Orangeblossom78 · 13/05/2020 21:01

I'm enjoying the thread about the family who are receiving from coronavirus and the main worry is the M&S meat pie!

GroEggAndHam · 13/05/2020 21:02

ThatLibraryMiss I follow Fred from first dates on Instagram. His was back to front and upside down, bless!

TinRoofRusty · 13/05/2020 21:03

Food can kill you! Being alive kills you! We are all terminal. OMG!

BarkandCheese · 13/05/2020 21:04

I was watching a man loitering around opposite my house yesterday. He had his mask pulled down so he could have a fag, once he’d finished he pulled his mask back up and continued on his way.

iamapixie · 13/05/2020 21:05

Jourdain: You really don't sound moany at all. I'm a right drama queen so am in awe of how chipper you're being. Your kids are lucky to have you.

Bollss · 13/05/2020 21:07

We've just had a takeaway too so I assume we've killed the delivery man and half the kitchen staff of our local dominoes.
