New thread!

Chicken ads for anyone who missed them.

Anyway have fun everyone, I'm off to sit in the park now that it's allowed.

Bird flu where we were supposed to lock up all our feathered friends whether we had 6000 chooks, or two as pets. That needs a whole other thread.

We too have a covenant in our new home, no chickens, or caravans. They were built in the 70`s. Our neighbours had never noticed that on the deeds.

Orangeblossom78 · 13/05/2020 18:11

We are in flats (cat and dog) so can understand the 2 legged rule, but we know someone in another flat has a secret dog! (shh) we're on the management committee but we don't say anything Smile

Bollss · 13/05/2020 18:12

Ours is a 1930s build. I'd quite like a goat actually so I don't have to mow the lawn. Doesn't say anything about goats!

OutwardBound2016 · 13/05/2020 18:12

Yes it is inevitable that we will have the sobbing about little Timmy who has fallen behind/not being supported at home/struggling socially, Timmys parents will want the government to DO SOMETHING as they are not sending him to school until it is completely safe, it’s so tedious.

GoldenOmber · 13/05/2020 18:13

My house is no chickens, no boats. Dunno if some boats escaped at some point and caused mayhem?

Bollss · 13/05/2020 18:14

Ah I see @Orangeblossom78!

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 18:15

Ah them boatmen are out till all hours, tinkering, fiddling, testing engines, in the drive, all encouraged by their wives who finally get control of the remote Grin

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 13/05/2020 18:16

A Dementor school mum called me yesterday and rant

Bollss · 13/05/2020 18:17

No boats! Grin

Our old house had a weird thing where the neighbours were allowed to hang washing in our garden but only from specific poles marked on the plan which didn't physically exist any more. I posted on here about it because we wanted to fence off the garden and one of the owners wouldn't let me because it prevented them hanging their washing from the non existent poles. Bloody nightmare it was.

Sounds like victim mentality..en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victim_mentality

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 13/05/2020 18:18

Whoops
Ranted that she wasn't sending her child back to school. I dont even know her that well. I wasn't sure if she wanted me to argue with her or agree with her.
30 straight mins of demented.

PineappleDanish · 13/05/2020 18:19

I have been to Asda TWICE today. I am a genocidal maniac.

Even worse, I embarrassed my teen DD. Reason for the first visit was that i bought her a pair of jeans which didn't fit and needed to be returned. Second visit I insisted she came with me and made her try them on over her leggings in the middle of the aisle.

More concerned about the implications of an embarrassed teenage daughter than about my genocidal rampage through suburban Glasgow.

Orangeblossom78 · 13/05/2020 18:20

Oh no, I just had MIL call me all dementor like about how the 'changes are too fast' and wanting lots of reassurance...calmed her down but feeling a bit stressed out now. Also being all weird about not wanting food delivered whilst FIL is shielding (lung condition) as 'they can get milk at the local shop'. Not easy.

MagdaS · 13/05/2020 18:21

My Y2 WhatsApp group has been very non-dementory - they all seem to be going back in. I suspect this is partly because half the children are already there and no one is dead, partly because they're a sensible lot generally.

The Y5 one is silent. Possibly because they are prone to a bit of drama but as it is the 11+ exam in September (apparently still on) no one wants to suggest their child might be disadvantaged by not going in, but no one wants to say they are either in case they are jumped on.

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 18:25

Orange

Thank you. I was only out a couple of hours but it was good.

Re the 2018 flu deaths, I had a whole thread on that, Orange helped out.

Still a couple of dementors.

RumbaswithPumbaas · 13/05/2020 18:26

I just passed my exam in animal notifiable diseases although got a bit muddled with all the horse ones... the animal diseases have much better names Grin

RumbaswithPumbaas · 13/05/2020 18:26

Lumpy skin, foot and mouth, rinderpest and blue tongue Grin

bookworm14 · 13/05/2020 18:26

Glad I found you again. I’ve really hit a wall this week. The school threads are really affecting my mental health. I feel constantly tired, achy and weepy, and on top of all that I have what I think is a stye on one eye. DD is increasingly welded to the iPad and becoming difficult to engage with school work. I’m not even particularly worried about that aspect (she’s only 4) - it’s the social aspect that is causing me huge anxiety. Can’t take much more of this.

RumbaswithPumbaas · 13/05/2020 18:27

(So it could be worse)

NewYorkIvy · 13/05/2020 18:28

@GroEggAndHam I'm a key worker too, my kids are off at the minute as dh isn't having to work but he'll be back in soon enough and the kids will be back in school as I can't work from home with them around.
It's mostly the lack of critical thinking that makes me despair. That headteacher was just dire on so many levels but is lapped up as "telling it how it is"

RumbaswithPumbaas · 13/05/2020 18:28

Our dd2 (reception age) won’t get out of her pyjamas and has turned feral

RumbaswithPumbaas · 13/05/2020 18:30

But they went in yesterday (keyworker space) and it did them a world of good - and no ppe etc, teachers seemed very sensible/relaxed.

Mascotte · 13/05/2020 18:30

@MorrisZapp I've noticed on my murderous outings that the zeal seems to have gone out of the rainbows... they're all looking a bit old and tatty

HouseOfSticks · 13/05/2020 18:32

Hello Chickens,
I want to pick your brains on something but I am now off out on my SECOND walk of the day where I will be walking 2 metres from my mum.

soberfabulous · 13/05/2020 18:33

I have two chickens and they love this thread, they told me 🤪🐔🐔🐔
