Now again, today, they are wanting to put banners over the Welcome to Scotland signs, reading 'Scotland is closed, fuck off'

Will check in a couple of days. They had banners at the start of this nonsense same old kind of crap but i cant even remember what they said now. Usual SNP propaganda & willy waving by the brainless.

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 21:49

@Mascotte I cant wait until he goes peace for a few hours. We are being pretty civilised but he does get snappy at DS who is supposed to be doing uni. work, and me because I am reading or playing on computer.

Willow2017 · 13/05/2020 21:50

Fecking seagulls are still here. No apparent starving to death, still just as many. Bloody nuiscances.

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 21:50

I thought our welsh labour government were bad but the SNP really are puritan and uber left wing arent they.

Bollss · 13/05/2020 21:51

My work colleague is at it now. Says she's not judging anyone's decision but it makes her so sad to think of children sat 2m apart and how awful it will be for them 💔💔💔

Oh no no judgement at all. If I get any faux pity if/when i go back to work I am going to be very mad indeed.

TheGreatWave · 13/05/2020 21:52

Seagulls are coming inland.

I have just been out for a drive - ds has been really struggling and the house was about to explode one way or another, so I forced him into the car and we just had a drive. Went past a golf course - certainly some members haven't wasted any time.

tbh I would question anyone who wanted to go to one of those protest meet ups.

SomewhereEast · 13/05/2020 21:54

The Scottish NT thing doesn't surprise me sadly. Was chatting last week to someone who has been furloughed from their role at a historic cathedral. The cathedral's finances are screwed basically because their income has collapsed while the underlying overheads of conserving a massive medieval structure haven't really gone down.

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 22:03

I remember feeling sad when during the war in Iraq and Syria they destroyed so many fabulous historical buildings it felt like desecration.

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 22:11

I must admit

I thought the revised legislation for England specifically forbade driving to Scotland and Wales?

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 22:22

No not forbade just sort of mumbled, you will not be welcome type of remark. England is not going to set up road blocks, the welsh and scots will have to sort themselves out. Sturgeon waved her dirk at the english, Drakeford his leek following bojos announcement.

Clemmieandareallybigbunfight · 13/05/2020 22:26

We are supposed to be going to Scotland on holiday at the beginning of August. Who knows if it will happen? I think they've all gone absolutely batshit. Where do they think the money is coming from without tourism.
The Edinburgh festival is already cancelled plus goodness knows what else.

Mascotte · 13/05/2020 22:32

@Clemmieandareallybigbunfight Surely Scotland must rethink? We will be fucked with no tourists. I think this is posturing just now. There's an election in the offing with factions within the SNP vying for position. Who can be more "independent". It's so depressing.

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 22:33

Oh forget to tell you, OH waged his own war against a dementor this morning. Took the dogs to the usual place, which is woodland riddled with footpaths it also happens to surround a posh hotel bought by national trust. There is a big row going on over signage saying private keep out and posts being driven into the ground to stop anyone passing.

Anyway a man stepped out and berated him for being there shouting private land go away. OH said oh really I have walked these woods for x decades, the paths are marked on os map. You have no rights, umm OH said I am not walking on a path anyway this is an old road which became practically disused decades ago except by the farmer who uses his tractor to get around. But it is still marked as a road on OS map

The man blustered and said there is a private house down there, yep says OH it is owned by the hotel and the manager lives there. Then OH said see that house pointing up the valley I lived there for x decades so kindly wind your neck in.

Well it turned out the man worked for the hotel, knew little of the history of the village but did know there were rights of way, he was trying to bluff his way out because his boss was fed up with the walkers, joggers, and their dogs coming past his house.

I do not think OH will have anymore trouble from him Grin

You really need to stand up to these bullies whether they accost you face to face or on social media.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 13/05/2020 22:35

We have a cottage booked in Scotland in August too. Naturally if we stay in a cottage in a remote area and go hillwalking miles from everyone we will spread nasty English covid to hundreds of innocent Scottish people.

TinRoofRusty · 13/05/2020 22:37

C'mon over, Countess, we're not all anti-English Dementors here.

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 22:38

I’ve started a thread about NZ

I’m going to catch up on Killing Eve and then catch up with the dementors!

I think the drama appeals? Some of the comments you are posting from your social media give me that impression.

Mascotte · 13/05/2020 22:38

It's a bit like Trump with the "China virus" you English murderers with your English virus!!

They're stationing haggii at the border to send you homewards .. tae think again

Mascotte · 13/05/2020 22:39

I want to live in England so I can drive to the beach and have a picnic and my child can go to school..

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 13/05/2020 22:40

Thanks Tinroofrusty.
I am still hoping it will be long enough for people to calm down a bit, but if politicians are hyping up the fear it could last till then.

TeacupDrama · 13/05/2020 22:41

@LilacTree1 it does
I'm English living in Scotland we will probably migrate to my parents in England for the summer if the Chief Dementor doesn't let up soon might even be allowed to run my business from England however I do think she will ease up in a couple of weeks even the whole population of England is seen not to have died

LilacTree1 · 13/05/2020 22:44

Scottish posters, if I had room in my flat, I’d invite you all!

NothingIsWrong · 13/05/2020 22:46

Governors meeting tonight - all staff working together, ready for YR/1/6 to return full time on 1st June. We will deal with having to get the rest back as it happens. Head has put her heart into timetables and procedures to make it as safe as possible. I was SO impressed with her commitment.

justasking111 · 13/05/2020 22:46

There is a very puritan streak that seems to run through the scottish marrow. A distrust of frivolity, hence the wee krankie appealing to so many. What gets my goat is she is pulling the welsh strings. You can just imagine Drakeford getting his orders from her. I bet he has her on speed dial before he puts the kettle on in the morning.

Drakeford "What do I say today oh wise one?"

Sturgeon "Listen closely I shall say this only once"

PickAChew · 13/05/2020 22:52

We've been eating fewer oven chips because Ds2, who has chips for dinner every single day as pRt of his beige diet has taken a liking to actifry chips. Might be back to business as usual soon, mind, as the spuds are getting less starchy and not Crisping up as well. Need to clear some freezer space.

On the subject of food, the M & S ready meal thread is 😅 nice bit of orthorexic dementoring.

BogRollBOGOF · 13/05/2020 23:20

I've seen a police car today! They don't pay much attention to our dopey area and I think it's about the 3rd I've seen patroling around since the restrictions first came in. The DCs and I were walking to the park with a football and all of us with a hurling stick over each shoulder, and I don't think many families around here have hurling sticks Grin We got a brief look in passing, but it did amuse me.

I've been quite energetic today and excavated 3 carpets, the lounge and DC's rooms. What's surprised me is other than the constant carnage in the kitchen, the rest of the house has deteriorated relatively slowly. The DCs keep playing with the same things and aren't pulling loads of new stuff out, plus we're not in and out constantly with umpteen bags with things like swimming or karate kits.

I'm planning a trip to a a park, in the car and might use the burger van while we're at it. Our arteries are far too clean after 7+ weeks of home food and daily exercise Grin They haven't been in my car for over 8 weeks.

Jourdain Flowers and for anyone else that needs them.
