Mine is Sandie Shaw. I can't believe it had never occurred to me until tonight that her name is a play on Sandy Shore.

The urethra isn’t inside the vagina.

Mine is. Also TMI, but I couldn’t use tampons because they got soaked in urine and fell out.

I cracked an egg the other day "no yolk" called a fart egg.

Not an adult realisation, but a childhood one I remember vividly. Aged six at a party, I asked why there was a prominent picture of a donkey. I was told we would play a game where we would all try to put the tail on it, and whoever got it closest would win. I thought wow, that’s an easy game, I’m bound to win. When we played the game a bit later, they got me to play first. My dream of being a certain winner was shattered when I then found out I had to be blindfolded! Sad They said a lot of “of course you can’t see for this game, everyone knows that!”

That the chuckle brothers were real brothers. Clue is in the title obviously but I have never realised until one of them died.

turquoiseplates · 12/05/2020 07:33

Lots of people think Forest Gump is/was a real person.

Australia hasmountains, imaginatively some are called 'the snowy mountains' the largest area of permenant snow in one country is in Australia

Unless I'm missing a trick this is utter BS. Australia does not have permanent snow. I've stood on top of the tallest mountain in Australia at Easter time and there was no snow. In fact the walk to the top of the tallest mountain in Australia is pretty easy, you go up a ski lift, then it's a gentle ramble as the mountains in Australia are plateau, so once on top there's not much too it. And certainly no need for oxygen as it's not very high up.

A quick google suggests Australia is the only continent with no permanent snow.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2020 08:39

Maybe it's a misremembered trick question and it's 'where has the most snow in July/August/September'?Confused

Cruddles · 12/05/2020 08:45

That could be the only option. The snowy mountains are a large area but snow isn't there more than a few months

Wheret0n0w · 12/05/2020 08:53

@TimeIhadaNameChange that one is brilliant and I still can’t believe Peter’s Map is not widely used. We have one in our house and I had plans to donate a couple to my child’s school this year! Ah never mind.

Wheret0n0w · 12/05/2020 08:55

Mine is that when I first moved to this country I thought Del Boy and Inspector Frost were played by two different actors Confused

Blursula · 12/05/2020 09:11

Prunes are dried plums. I’m not sure what I thought they were exactly, but it surprised me

NeedToKnow101 · 12/05/2020 09:41

@LochJessMonster

  • I always thought a surprising amount of people were called Tia.

Until I realised it was short for Thanks In Advance*
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

A few people have said that Sandie Shaw doesn't sound like Sandy Shore in Scottish pronounciation. Is this because Shaw and Shore are pronounced differently?

ChangeThePassword · 12/05/2020 10:14

Yes. In Scotland we like to make use of having an R in a word. It seems pointless to have it and not use it.

Note: other rhotic accents also exist.

thunderthighsohwoe · 12/05/2020 10:28

That daisies close up at night and reopen in the daytime. Grew up in a village surrounded by fields of daisies and never had a clue.

AdaColeman · 12/05/2020 10:31

Hence their name, a contraction of Day’s Eye ~ daisy.

maria860 · 12/05/2020 10:51

CatherineTheNotSoGreat · 12/05/2020 11:14

@thunderthighsohwoe and @AdaColeman told DD (12) both those facts just yesterday! She didn’t believe me and we had to check as it grew dark last night! Grin

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/05/2020 11:57

I was going to add that from the equator, a waxing crescent moon looks like a smile, but I know you’d never fall for that

You are right Cattenburg - I'm FAR too clever for that! Grin

Supermarketworker06 · 12/05/2020 12:02

Many years ago, before x box etc was common, I thought Play Station was something to do with trains!
My friend said her husband was up late playing Playstation 1 (told you it was ages ago) and I said "I didn't know he had a train set". What an idiot!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/05/2020 12:02

I only found out recently that 'new' potatoes are just normal potatoes that are dug up earlier.

I KNEW THAT! I KNEW THAT!
